Stop by this japanese tenpayaki style restaurant on the second day of soft opening for dinner. It was not crowded when we arrived. We were seated right away. The first question was :Have you been here before? This was the 6th or 7th location in the Bay Area. To be honest, this is the first time I have heard about this restaurant chain even though I have been in many restaurants before. You order using a tablet at your table. You choose from the menu, and you can add an add-on. The price of the menu items was reasonable. We ordered kurobuta pork belly pepper rice and beef udon. Both orders were ready pretty quickly. Both come with very hot iron plates and are unseasoned. Thecportion is generous. You use the sauces that are provided at the table and mix it with the dishes. The sauces are teriyaki, garlic shoyu, chili powder, pink salt, and pepper. For pork, I use all except pink salt. Drpend on your liking, use teriyaki more if you want to be on the sweet side and use shoyu on the salty size. Add chili powder for a kick, and don't forget the pepper. Overall, both dishes are very yummy. I usually don't finish a plate whenever I go, but I finish one tonight. Will definitely come back again to try the popular garlic beef pepper rice (spicy) and the curry. The service was also good. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. In the end, you paid the bill near...
Read moreThe food & service here are not worth the money. The average price per person who spend this pepper lunch sizzling plate type of the meal in Japan is $6.86 but this location charged more than twice of it. The server lady was doing barely enough things to provide without smile or warm welcome to the customers, she gave us the feelings of rushed, pressured, cold & unpleasant to even work there. We are not asking the favor to her or not asking food to go, the ones we expected are the enjoyable dining experience especially them overly charging us for what they provide. It is relatively new location so we hope we hear some improvements in the future but I would not recommend since there are lots of other options...
Read moreJust went here for a work lunch. The table and ordering set up is a little strange as each table has an immovable/stationed iPad and since it was a table of 7, the person next to it has to input for everyone. We had everyone look at the menu on their phones too.
Other than that the service was good and attentive overall. I ordered the garlic beef pepper rice, and with the added shoyu and chili on the table, it was a very tasty dish. Exceeded my expectations.
A few attendees ordered the salmon which didn’t cook fully, but the server was able to take it back to have them reheat the sizzling plate.
Overall a good experience even with how...
