Not likely to be a regular stop for anyone. As many have noted- lots of vacant storefronts, random hours which don't follow their 'posted hours'. There is a second floor, but is literally all offices except one or two things. Many 'posted' hours are 10-4, so you are out of luck if you work during the week- except maybe for a lunch visit. There were people staffed at the 'information/welcome' at the Factory front door- but we received no greetings or acknowledgement. One of them, a man, was literally complaining to his co-worker when we walked in and when we walked out.
We were there on a Wednesday, a ghost town--- about 4 places open. Jeni's Ice Cream posted hours are open until 5-- they were closed by 4:30 (lights off, no one there- as if closed for a while) when we got done at Third Coast Clay.
This building cannot support any business or draw regular customers ( not counting events in the theater or pop up events) without the stability of knowing what you will get so you can make a plan to visit. Right now, it will be catch-as-catch-can since stores don't follow their posted hours. If we had driven a long way to get here, it would be infuriating.
There is a lack of attention to detail in the building. A sign by the theater with the building directory has Mafiozas listed as 'coming soon', however it has been open for a while now. The bathrooms need a lot of attention- dirty, and cheapest fixtures and construction-- about what you would expect at McDonald's or gas station. I included pictures. Notice the gross brown grime in the bathroom door. You think that got there on a Wednesday by one person? Attentiveness and actions by the management/owners mean more than written feedback to visitor reviews...
Read moreHave had a couple of run-ins with a super disrespectful what I can only assume member of management. When looking for a meet up location to have my hair braided, I chose the Factory at Franklin (as this company often meets to braid at L&L market which is a very similar venue with individual businesses etc). The first visit about a month ago, we were approached by this man (accompanied by a woman that spoke to us while he just stood there) and asked not to film and handed their film policy. We said “okay” and that was that. We were not told not to return, just asked not to record (which, people do all the time there for personal use, so I’d love to know why this is only being enforced SOME of the time).
Well, fast forward a month later and this man approaches angrily saying “You KNOW you’re not supposed to do this here. We’ve told you before, etc. etc.” To which we responded, no, that we were only asked not to film (which we were not doing). Considering I have a recording of the original confrontation and conversation that followed, I’m happy to provide that to corroborate what I said. Not to mention, my wife and myself were literal paying customers who were grabbing drinks at the Skylight prior to the appointment that we were still enjoying when this man approached us. He was incredibly rude and condescending and I’ll be sure to share my negative experience across my...
