I hope Wegmans addresses this bigotry.
Events that transpired at Wegmans- Fredericksburg on June 8, 2025
A quiet group of customers gathered at the location to eat, socialize, and write postcards for Winsome Sears in their gathering space on the 2nd floor. First, let me state that I have great respect for the rights of private businesses to accept or deny customers based on the values of their company. It is also the right for citizens to make known which customers are valued or not valued at these establishments. Here are the events that transpired.
Last week, I spoke to a Wegmans staff member regarding their policy for groups meeting on the second floor. explained that we intended to purchase food in the food court around dinner time and that we would socialize and gather upstairs to work on writing some postcards. The employee stated that small groups often meet upstairs, and as long as the group isn't disturbing others or soliciting/selling than it wouldn't be a problem for us to meet. I felt no need to get this approval in writing or elevate it any further. Today, a small group arrived today, purchased food and drinks, and gathered upstairs away from two other groups that were also meeting at the same time. After about 30 minutes, a gentleman identified himself as the Manager inquired to what we were doing and I explained that we were eating, socializing, and writing postcards for a candidate. He started to walk away and then came back to the table and asked us which candidate and looked at our postcards. Upon learning that it was for Winsome Sears, the manager immediately became aggressive and told us that we were not allowed to be there because it was private property and we had to leave immediately. After explaining that we had asked permission and acknowledging that we were not causing a disturbance, the manager said that groups were not allowed. After pointing out the two other groups present that were not being told to leave, we were told that it was because we were soliciting. When pointing out that we were not soliciting, the manager said that it was private property, and he could ask any group to leave if he felt it necessary. When asked for the General Manager contact information to follow up with, I was given a name but not given any way to contact them either by phone or email. Seeking to be good neighbors, our group complied with the demands of the manager on duty and left the premises after gathering our food and materials. We are aware of several groups (including political groups) that regularly meet or have met in the same space that we were gathered. We also asked to see the written policy, to which we were told that one didn't exist.
I have reached out to the General Manager of Wegmans as well as Wegmans Corporate to voice my concerns on the way the situation was handled. Our committee will always respect dissenting opinions and encourage open dialogue. have recommended that Wegmans publicly post clear guidance as to which groups are allowed and which groups are not allowed and training for their employees to understand. I have especially recommended that the manager take training on conflict resolution and proper ways to communicate. Vitriol and "demanding immediately" elevated the situation unnecessarily.
We will continue to be a voice for the unheard in Fredericksburg. We are in the process of planning another postcard event at a...
Read moreI have gone to the store and have used Wegmans pharmacy since they first opened here in Fredericksburg. Unfortunately, I will not ever go to the store or use their pharmacy again.
I’m writing this review revealing A LOT of personal information that I shouldn’t need to reveal. But I unfortunately feel it necessary to put myself out there because of how I was treated and made to feel. And I don’t want anyone else to ever have to feel the way I have/did because of a pharmacy. Not to mention the after effects this has had on me while dealing with ER doctors and other specialists.
I take Ativan everyday for severe anxiety. Over the course of Nov - Dec I had a few MRIs and other tests done. My specialist doctors who ordered those tests told me it would be completely okay to take an extra (1) pill/dose during their tests because I am severely claustrophobic. Because of this, I ended up not having enough pills left at the end of the month because I had taken a few extra for the tests I had those months. My psychiatrist knew this and agreed to/with the plan my specialists had suggested. She also agreed that I could take 1 pill in the morning and 2 at night to help sleep because I have not been due to chronic illness and PTSD.
Wegmans pharmacy called me and questioned me on why I was refilling my Ativan so soon when I should have had enough for the month left. I explained and told them the exact reasons I wrote above in this review, and they told me they would never fill another prescription for me unless they heard specifically from my psychiatrist. I told my psychiatrist this and in a nice way she more or less said “wow screw them” and told me to switch to Walmart’s pharmacy. Which I have.
I don’t do drugs. I am not a drug abuser. I am not a drug seeker. And I take my prescriptions as I am told to and ALWAYS HAVE. I am incredibly hurt and embarrassed by Wegmans. I have gone there for years. A LOT of their workers in the store itself and the pharmacy know me personally and know how chronically ill I am (I am wheelchair bound among other things). I’m so sorry that I ever used their pharmacy and I sincerely hope other people who are on extensive medication for things that their body and minds do to them that are out of their control don’t go through the same...
Read moreFirst come first serve correct ?
Prior to going I called 17 local stores in Stafford, Fredericksburg, Caroline & king George. Unfortunately, no one had neosure.
One store had 4 cans in Caroline when we arrived from Fredericksburg they had sold out & that’s ok because they said first come first serve.
Luckily when I called Wegmans customer service desk they transfer me to groceries they confirmed that they had neosure after driving over an hour from Caroline Co. empty handed & they also confirmed they had NO limit because I asked the guy if he was sure 3 times & he was very positive he had NO limit he also said there was 18 in stock, when I asked the guy can I buy as many as I need to tonight I’m coming from far away he confirmed yes because there is no limit. I also asked if they take WIC and he also confirmed they take wic.
& Unfortunately tonight didn’t go as plan, WE WERE DENIED BABY MILK for our premature children !! I have triplets meaning 3 new babies that were born premature after major complications While we were loading up our cart of baby milk for our newborns we go to the next aisle and we hear the man calling the manager or whoever he was calling and said a black man is taking all the baby milk. Soon after picking up some additional items. The manager went to the check out line we were at & very rudely took the items from us and said they can not sell us baby formula because we were going to resell it after explaining what we been though all day pretty much in tears & how we couldn’t find formula and how we didn’t have baby milk they still denied us and accused us of reselling when we have not once thought of that they even asked us for pictures( we provided) A very sweet lady offered to purchase and for us to pay her back we kindly explained to her currently we are on wic she offered to pay with our wic card and again they denied for her to purchase for us. God bless this lady. My body is shaking of how much sadness and how little we felt.
We still don’t have baby formula I’m utterly disgusted for...
