If you care about your SAFETY or SANITY, do NOT move here.
About a year ago, they started to relax their standards for letting people move in here. Since then, police are here ALL THE TIME. I'd say a few times a week. There is nothing "luxury" about this complex anymore. I was witness to a US Marshalls fugitive task force raid at the pool on the roof (see attached picture) and there was a SWAT raid a few months ago for a man with a gun at a party with over 100 people in ONE APARTMENT. They allow loud parties on the roof all the time. Drunks, drugs, criminals, speeding cars in the parking garage and loud music are a staple at Skyhouse.
I paid extra money to live above the 20th floor for an upgraded apartment. For that extra cost, I got a hallway that smells like marijuana, a next door neighbor blasting his music all day/ night, sometimes until 4am. Staff know about this and do nothing. One of the staff said "Oh yea, floor 22 and 19 are the weed floors." They know about the loud music at all hours of the night. I called DOZENS of times to complain about the loud music at 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and they ignored it. This wasn't just on weekends, it was during week nights too! Some staff would say "Oh we will give them a call" but most times they wouldn't because the music never stopped. I had to call police myself multiple times. Nine times out of ten, the police wouldn't even show up so I felt completely helpless. I made phone calls, wrote emails, spoke to the property manager, etc and nothing was done. "We will give them a call" was all that ever happened. The last email I sent, the response was "This is the first time we are hearing about this."
Essentially, I gave up and resorted to sleeping at hotels and friends houses so that I could sleep and run my small business, all while STILL PAYING $2500 in rent at Skyhouse.
In Texas, we have a LAW which is "a right to quiet enjoyment" as a tenant. This law is even referenced in their contract. Skyhouse continued to violate this law for months and did absolutely nothing to rectify my horrible situation.
Only once I said I had to move out due to the horrible conditions I was living under did they ask if they could do anything to get me to stay. I said- "Sure, get rid of the drunks, drugs, loud parties, disruptive and disrespectful neighbors, constant police presence and SWAT raids." He just looked at me with a blank stare and said "Sorry about that" and that was the end of the conversation.
If you are a single professional or someone with a family, PLEASE find somewhere else to live. You will regret moving here.
If you are in your 20's and just care about partying, drinking, smoking, doing drugs and committing crimes, Skyhouse is the place for you!
UPDATE- Skyhouse responded with "Please know that we take concerns like yours seriously." Over the MONTHS I was complaining, no one at Skyhouse did a thing to address my concerns. Now that I wrote a scathing review and no longer live there, they write about how serious they take my concerns. It's just hilarious at this point.
Please take your hard earned money and rent...

To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my profound disappointment and disgust regarding the abhorrent lack of action taken by the management team at Sky house to address the pervasive smoking issues that have plagued our community.
For far too long, residents like myself have been subjected to the incessant stench of both marijuana and cigarette smoke infiltrating our living spaces. Despite numerous complaints and pleas for intervention, the management has consistently failed to take meaningful steps to mitigate this ongoing problem.
It is utterly unacceptable that we are forced to endure the harmful effects of secondhand smoke in our own homes due to the negligence of the management. Not only is this a blatant violation of our rights as tenants to a safe and healthy living environment, but it also demonstrates a profound lack of regard for the well-being of the community.
Furthermore, the failure to enforce smoking regulations not only contributes to the deterioration of air quality but also poses significant health risks to residents, particularly those with respiratory issues or sensitivities to smoke.
In addition to the physical discomfort and health hazards posed by the pervasive smoke, the management's inaction has also created a hostile and unpleasant living environment. The pervasive odor of smoke permeates common areas, making it impossible to enjoy outdoor spaces or even simply open a window without being assaulted by the noxious fumes.
As a resident of Sky house, I implore the management failure to take immediate and decisive action to address this pressing issue. It is imperative that comprehensive measures be implemented to enforce smoking regulations, including regular patrols, strict penalties for violators, and the installation of designated smoking areas far away from residential buildings.
Failure to address this issue in a timely and effective manner will only serve to further erode trust in the management and exacerbate the already untenable living conditions for residents. We deserve better, and it is high time that the management takes responsibility for ensuring a safe, healthy, and smoke-free environment for all residents.
This is inaction is forcing us to move...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSuch a mixed experience. The views from the amenities on the 25th floor are amazing. Amenities are the reason for stars! Great fire pit, amazing office workspace.
The concierge and the maintenance team are amazing.
Getting into the apartment was less than wonderful and - kinda stressful and awful. Leasing took their time with documents and complained it was the software. So even though I started weeks early, I didnāt have a lease till the night before. Everywhere elseās Iāve gotten a lease same day.
I wasnāt told I needed to reserve a loading bay to move in - concierge tried to make this right but very disappointed in leasing.
Leasing said that the top kitchen amenities were first come first serve⦠that was a lie
Then they said it cost $250⦠another lie, itās free.
The closets are ridiculously small for $3200 a month 3 bedroom apartment. I had to donate half my wardrobe and the rest is smashed in.
No stair options. So if elevators are slow, you canāt walk up the elevators to your floor ever. You can only exit and they both exit completely outside the building.
The public restroom on the first floor is ALWAYS locked. They send people to the business center.
The first 3 months...
The first 2 months the plumbing smelled awful from the show apartment being right above me. Like fowl rotten eggs. I took a bath that literally gave me an infection from dirty water. We ran all the water in the home for an hour, had maintenance work with us and still have random days of fowl odors.
Month 2 and 3...Then the noise from construction! I live in the apartment RIGHT ABOVE the new burger place. They should have never rented the apartment. When I take a bath, not only is the noise in my apartment deafening, my head is literally vibrating on the bathtub. When I emailed about it⦠no direct response. One mass email that says āsorry 1.5 months moreā. Monday through Saturday. I was nursing a cranky baby this morning who woke up so sleepy to loud hammering. $3200+ a month in rent to have a space that is not livable parts of the day š¤¦āāļøš
AND since I am in the Business Center working because my apartment is not an option.... the internet is TERRIBLE in there. It started off great and now it is unstable. The business center should have fantastic internet and it does not. Only the 2.4 is available and not the 5 like in...
