Its holidays and it’s time to spend time together and make memories! Make memories we did on Wednesday dec 5th night. 5 of us girl friends got together after a long day of work and headed to frisco star on a frigid night to enjoy each other’s company n unwind and catch up! We finished dinner at a Thai place and enjoyed the spicy food and it was now time for some dessert. We headed to Cane Russo as it was close by and we were craving some tiramisu. We got in there, it was about 9:20pm, the entire restaurant was empty, they didn’t have the tiramisu but the bread pudding on the menu looked good so we made ourselves comfortable. The chatting continued mostly about kids, work and holidays. We ordered a couple of desserts and ONE glass of wine to share among all of us. The lady serving us said she was worried about us consuming wine as we were loud and suggested we eat first! We were taken aback but didn’t think too much n ordered an appetizer and 2 desserts n A glass of wine. Then came out bread and our bread pudding and gelato but no wine! Upon asking the server said again she was worried about our alcohol consumption n wouldn’t serve us wine until we ate our dessert!!!! For all of us in our 40’s, working women, all of us professionals with Masters’s degree, 2 of us running our own business, couple of us with our kids in college -this was a shock!! And offensive! She also said we would be their responsibility if anything happened to us once we leave! All this because she thought we were loud!! We probably were a bit louder than usual, there was no one else in the restaurant, I would understand if we were told to keep it down- it would be understandable but the decision to not serve ONE glass of wine was something we could not comprehend! We told the server and the manager who was at the table by this time that this was unacceptable behavior on their part, paid for the appetizer we had, offered to pay for the untouched dessert , in-fact one of my friend insisted they charge for it, the manager only charged us for the half eaten appetizer, but did not address our concerns, he didn’t even attempt! We informed them we didn’t appreciate the treatment there and it was offensive to insinuate that we were consuming alcohol beyond our limits! We left n wondered if they would have treated a group of men the same way!? We will never know!! This was our first visit to Cane Russo at frisco Star was extremely disappointing and offensive and left a very bad taste! We would not go back there. Hope they think twice before they test their customers...

First and last time here. Awful experience all around. Walked in to a fairly busy place and was told it would be about a 10 minute wait which was fine, even though there were 8 tables that were open. After standing there a while, the assistant mgr came up and asked us if we were waiting on a table to which I replied "yeah we are what's wrong with that 8 top that's been vacant this whole time?" He then says oh yeah that's your table follow me. So we stood there for 10+ minutes waiting on a table that was ready to be seated. Ok not a huge deal. We sit down and it takes at least another 10 minutes for anyone to even bring us a menu or take our drink order. I ordered a mimosa which took at least another 10 minutes, if not more. We then place an order, 3 pizzas, an order or breadsticks and a sandwich. About 20 minutes after placing our order, the assistant tells us he will put our order in for the pizzas because they are fast and the other kitchen is a little backed up. Our breadsticks come out then the pizza and we were told it would be another few minutes for the sandwich. Cool no problem. After ANOTHER 20 minute wait, we finally ask what is going on and the assistant keeps telling us they are backed up instead of going to the kitchen and figuring out where it actually was. The pizza I ordered was left about halfway uncovered with any toppings or sauce. It was literally half crust half pizza (not to mention the chinchy amount of meat they put on their pizzas). We finally to the mgr to forget rhe sandwich because we had been there over an hour and a half at that point. The mgr did comp the half crust pizza which was nice but at that point, the entire meal should've been taken care due to how long we had been there. When a group of people go out to eat, they like to eat together. Not have 1 person eat, then 30 minutes later another person's food comes out. Needless to say, this was easily top 3 worst dining experiences of my life. Will not come back and would advise the owner/GM to train their staff properly because this was a literal circus (even though circus pizza is...

My husband and I went for a Friday night date to try this place for the first time together. It was around 7 pm. They were busy but not completely full so we were seated right away. We got the Billy Ray Valentine, cute, I love Trading Places with Eddie Murphy. It had Bacon, bacon marmalade, vodka sauce, sweety drop peppers, and house made mozzarella. That sounded good but for $3 we added ground. sausage. The pizza was $19. It is 14 inches and kinda shaped like a heart. This looked a little pricey but this is not your normal pizza shop. This is an experience. We had never heard of sweety peppers before so we said let's try it. Kind of had the texture of a habinero pepper WITHOUT the heat. It was an experience for our mouth. My husband kept saying, mmm, mmm. I think he really enjoyed it and so did I. We also tried a small 10 inch dessert pizza, the Ladybird and the Edgar. The waitress said we could do half on one side and half on the other so we picked the two we were most interested in. The waitress said her favorite was the Ladybird but ours was the Edgar, I love roasted marshmallows. That was only $10 for a 10 inch. They had a larger one for $13 but the 10 inch was fine for us. The decorations in the restaurant were so cool. The pizza oven was a football helmet. The restaurant was across the street from the Dallas Cowboys practice Stadium in Frisco. It is great place for meeting friends or a date night. Today starts the Summer special dessert pizza Bella Mela, it has vanilla mascarpone, peaches, caramel and powdered sugar. I need to go back and try this because I love fruit dessert pizzas. Check it out! You will not be...

Whew. I try to never give bad ratings or take the time to write one. From the moment we walked in at 9 PM after the sip and stroll, The hosts made it clear they were close to closing. Now I used to be server so I understand, but there were 3 of us. Considering parties of 5 & 6 walked in after us and we came in AFTER an even (you would think they’d prepare for the fact that at 9 PM when the event ended there would be a few people). We ordered one bolognese and two cacio e Pepe. Bolognese was good (according to our sis). Now the two cacio… one had chicken on it that was UNDERCOOKED. we told our server and about 15 mins later a fully cooked one came out. Interesting though that no manager came by to extend apologies, so I knew no one cared at that point. The chicken was PINK. Then both pastas had no sauce. It was noodles with pepper. I should’ve taken a picture of the chicken, but I def got a picture of the pasta. It was REALLY BAD. Probably the worst meal we’ve paid for in the past four months. And it was disappointment. The server was nice but you could tell she was over it (I get it because she didn’t make the meal). But I’m very disappointed by our experience here. So much that I made a review within an hour of leaving.

Ordered a pizza and had it delivered. The entirety of the crust & sections of the top were completely burnt. This pizza reeked of burnt charcoal. I called the store. They offered to make another one if I wanted to pick it up. The purpose of having it delivered was to not have to pick up a pizza. I also spoke with the regional manager who was visiting the location when I called. He took my email address and said he would send me coupons or something, but that still hasn’t happened. Needless to say, this pizza was completely inedible (unless one might enjoy licking a dirty astray). This pizza should have never gone out to a customer in the first place. Quality control and basic care/concern for customers is clearly non existent here. Congratulations, Cane Rosso, you took my money and got over on me this time. I will never eat here again & encourage others to avoid your place as well. *Edit: the GM and corporate hospitality director both reached out after the review was posted to apologize and make the issue right. I was told that the restaurant chalked it up as a teachable moment & they were kind enough to send me a gift card. I appreciate their concern and will give this location & brand another shot.
