Bought a lenovo yoga on june 30th brand new to start school i had my previouse computer for 6 years with no issue brand new and only had it for 5 months spent about over $500 for it and yesterday morning the hinge dislodged itself from the screen upon opening. I at this point only had the computer several months. Treated it very nicely. I went to best buy to tell them about my problem as lenovo said they are aware of the hinge issue however wont fix it because they consider it surface damage?!? Like the whole screen disconnected from the keyboard not to mention its only glued together its not even attached to the keyboard with screws like most others. I went to best buy to tell them about my issue as this doesnt seem normal and its a defective issue as it seems with all the yogas after googling it. After telling them about my issue i got met with a response from geoffery saying "and what would you like me to do about this" (after he knew why we were there and his coworker told him the issue) we were polite and explained it again as ive never had this happen before with a device ive purchased especially from best buy. I was then told he could move with the price if we purchased a new computer which turned out to be not true. I was laid off recently and used what i had to buy this computer for school so buying a new one wasnt in budget. I explained my issue politely again and was then met with another response from geoffery "i feel like you think bestbuy owes you something" well if they are selling defective products that are have a thousand dollars and more i sure hope they would sell me a good product. I guess the end result i learned today is to not buy a lenovo computer and to just assume best buy doesnt care about their customers. Im just a little guy not a corperation and i pretty much threw away $500 for nothing meanwhile my 6 ywar old computer outdated but is still pushing through. Usyally most products if defective are met with repairs or replacement best buy offered niether. Both corperations will make money money off me and there is simply nothing i can do...
Read moreMy house was hit by lightning and my home entertainment center was knocked out. I sought a expert to visit my home and evaluate my situation. I should have known better than to use a retailer for service but a friend recommended the "geek squad" . I spent twenty minutes wandering through phone choices till I finally found someone who would take my money (up front). She asked me when and I told her and she did my credit card and stated she would call back with an appointment time. I waited all day and the next day when the morning time was about up I called to verify. I spent 45 minutes getting shuffled from one person to the next and being hung up on. After all that time I find that a service order has not been created but my card has been charged.
I decided finally that this is just too much of an omen and I would be better to seek a local professional. I told the agent that I would rather cancel the service call. So I get shuffled some more and after considerable time I get told that he can not reverse the charges but that someone would call me back.
An hour latter a rude lady calls and wants to speak to my wife. I ask if this is about the Best Buy service call and she says yes. I tell her that she doesn't need my wife as I made the service request and I was the one who gave my credit card. She says she has to have my wife and hangs up.
So, I have spent over an hour trying first to find out my status and then to cancel. I still have no confirmation of the credit card reversal, but I am done on the phone with them and done doing any business with them. I write this review to warn anyone seeking service from these people. Good service just can not start out wirth a 20 minute phone call. That should be all the warning anone needs. Don't persist and make the mistake I did, seek a...
Read moreI will never step foot in this store again. Two days ago I purchased a Plus membership to make sure I have benefits that non-paying members don't. I wanted to buy the new Pokemon Prismatic Evolutions collection that was released today. Yesterday the store told me that I have to wait for January 17th (today) to purchase my collection and that it was not available for pre-order. Last night at midnight I went online to secure my set, which until then was listed as Coming Soon, not available to pre-order. Soon after midnight The Coming Soon button changed to Add To Cart. My eyes were glued to the screen, to make sure I don't miss the after midnight release. The moment I clicked on Add to Cart, it showed: "You are in line, please wait". I waited for well over an hour, until finally I was able to input my phone number (which was supposed to locate my Plus account and afford me the benefits guaranteed to Plus members). Guess what? The collection was shown as unavailable. Today I went to the store when it opened and was told that all Prismatic Evolutions products had been pre-ordered yesterday and were sold out. This store is a scam. I canceled my Plus membership right away. Shame on you, Best Buy! UPDATE: After I posted this review, the owner wrote a reply (see below). While the owner was prompt in responding, his reply completely ignored my valid concerns and came across as dismissive, framing me as just another disgruntled customer upset over missing a high-demand product. This response was understandably infuriating. Good business practices require honesty and accountability. Using deflecting tactics not only damages trust but also reflects poorly on the...
