Once bitten twice shy…this is my fault. I went in last night and purchased dinner and also purchased a bottle of Texas Pete hot sauce. When I got home I commenced slathering my tacos with the Texas Pete and kind of noticed something strange. I took 2 more bites with the same result. After a little high tech investigating I found that the bottle of Texas Pete had expired a year ago in September 2020. Needles to say dinner was ruined. While not exactly happy, I brought the bottle of hot sauce back to the restaurant this evening after work and explained the situation. The manager prepared a voucher for $15. I informed her that i wasn’t there for the money, but if she was going to comp the meal the least she could do is reimburse me for what I paid. $16.77 plus the bottle of hot sauce…$5-$6. She stared at me and said she already filled out her little piece of paper. I informed her if she was going take up the practice of reimbursing bad meals I’d recommend making sure the customer wasn’t out any $$$ then comp a meal. Again I got the stare…I told her to keep it, then went and had a wonderful meal at Chuy‘s.

I really liked this place it’s a great example of yummy Mexican foods. It’s basic and part of chain so it’s an established brand the whole family can enjoy. This particular branch has really friendly staff who are chatty and give great recommendations of the food selection. It also caters heavily to students with Gainesville being a mainly student based town so there’s fun quizzes and student related activities for everyone to enjoy so make sure you check that out if your new in town. My favourite and the star of the show for me was the hot sauce selection they have a number of local and other mixed hot sauces from all over with different brands tasting from very hot to mild. I recommend the tacos as this what I had, the chips are also freshly made and taste great with the salsa. Service dogs only and space to eat outside.

I had an awful delivery experience here a month ago and decided to try again with a dine-in. Dumb plan. No toilet paper in the bathroom, just napkins. Same case with paper towels. Soap dispenser was also broken. My burrito was about 70% lettuce and cheese with only a light spread of beans and meat. It didn't help that everything was cold to the touch when it was brought to the table. I'm never coming back to this location, and you can bet I'll be telling everyone to avoid it. Short changing orders will only protect your food costs for so long. As soon as people realize they aren't getting their money's worth, they will go elsewhere.

//My wife and I stopped in for the first time yesterday (7/18/2025), we were very disappointed. We both ordered the street tacos with steak. What we got were little 3 inch corn tortilla shells with maybe 6 pieces of meat on them and some weird cream sauce and some chips that were crushed (think bottom of the tortilla bag crumbles) and NO salsa. I guess you have to order that separately. No accommodations to swap out corn for flour tortillas (oh we don't have flour tortilla shells that size) . Ok no biggie but kind of disappointing. I ordered a coke zero while the wife got some mango juice thing (it was terrible, no flavor at all.) Half the hot sauces on the bar were either completely empty or just did not work. We paid almost $30 for this. There is absolutely nothing at this place that would make me or the wife want to come back and try anything else they have to offer. I guess if we want Street Tacos we will hit up one of the other dozen Mexican places around...

Fun place with excellent Tex-Mex food.

First off, they have a sauce bar, so you can get what flavor and heat hot sauce you prefer for your food. Included in the price. From their mildest ‘Smack my a** and call me Sally’ to about a dozen hotter ones, some of which are way too hot for me!

Another great thing is portion size

Not starving? Get a taco, chips, and a soda at a great price.

Want more? They have a deal on two taco’s, and if you still don’t think it’s enough, just add another Taco or two more. If you are really hungry, their burritos are very large.

They offer a choice of protein for most menu items, of beef, chicken, blackened chicken, steak, grilled shrimp, and a couple of bean fillings.

And all are very good. They even make their salsa, in house, daily.

Great variety of non-alcoholic beverages plus about half-a-dozen beers and a couple of other alcoholic beverages.

My Favorite...
