Chris McBrien Psychic Medium — Attraction in Galena

Before I made my appointment I read many of the other reviews. I felt comfortable that Chris is honest and does not hold back. I am fine with that. I have been to many mediums/readers/psychics over the years and am very comfortable with different styles. This was my first reading with Chris and my first reading for an hour. I was excited for both. No instructions were given at the beginning or at any time. He asked me if there was someone I wanted to contact and I said my dad and he requested his full name, I gave it along with his 2 nicknames. He gave alot of general info about dad, nothing really special. I asked if Dad had a message for me and Chris told me that I needed to be patient and if we are patient the message will come. So, I did not ask any other questions till the end. Several times Chris said, “you are not gonna like what I have to say”, every time when he said that, it was for him to discuss something like Mary Magdalene, religion, Little House on the Prairie, His bio, or something else that I did not feel was related to me or my dad. I felt that this time Chris took to discuss these other things ate up alot of the time, at least ⅓ of my time. I would have preferred to have much less of this extra explanation of what he meant. At the end of the reading I asked if my dad had a message for me and Chris said that all of this had been his message to me. I feel that what he had given me was generic and vague and was looking for more. Chris asked me to explain and I said that I was looking for a specific message from my dad so that I knew it was him and Chis asked what? I said I was wondering if dad said anything about his eulogy. Chris then said very sternly, “That is just a fantasy, that is not real, he was not even there”. Let me be clear, I can handle honesty, brutal honesty is fine, but tone can soften a message and this felt very rude to me. Like he was upset that I even asked about this. He said that all he had given me was great info and did I feel that it was good. I said it was good, but I was looking for more and he again said that it is not real. He seemed quite upset with me. I asked if anyone else had come thru and he said I should have asked about that earlier and that we were out of time. I did not feel like I could ask any questions because he had told me earlier that I needed to be patient. Later that day I talked to 2 other people that had readings that day also. They both told me that Chris mentioned to them that “earlier a person that was all up in arms, something about a eulogy” and “the lady that was in here earlier got hung up on a eulogy”. It is very unprofessional for you to discuss one client with another. Very unprofessional and rude. I would also question why he did not realize the people he was talking to about me about were my mother and my sister!! We all gave the same name of the person that we wanted to contact. Same first middle and last name of husband and dad. Same guy!! Our readings were all one right after the other, mine was first. So you just complained about me to my mother and my sister! He did say something to my sister about her mom, so he did figure out that they were mother and daughter. But how did he not understand that he was complaining about me to them. Thanks for sticking with me this long, I know this is a long review. I waited several days to process all of this and be clear headed to write it. All of the info he gave me was vague and general. Nothing really wowed me at all and then to have him be very Unprofessional. We will never go back and do not recommend. UPDATE: After review Chris texted and called me, Offered to refund me IF I took down review. I said no. He continued to call and text for hours. My son got home, saw how upset I was and answered the phone and told him to Stop! Calls stopped, but not texts. Hours of him begging me to take down the review. Horrible day for me. We own a 130+ year old historical home in Galena that we adore. My wife is obsessed with the history and past owners of house and we’ve had numerous “experiences” in the house. Several of our guests have heard voices in between the bedrooms and we’ve even had a worker tell us our beloved home was haunted and that he felt “watched”, by a woman of short stature in a white nightgown. My wife hired Chris on a recommendation for a reading of our house. Chris spent time walking the home, time in the basement, the attic and openly shared what he “felt”. Chris’ words eerily matched the descriptions of what our guests, and what we’ve experienced! My wife didn’t share any stories of where in the house things have happened, or what’s been experienced, with Chris. He told us about a servant that lived in the back bedroom of the home and she likes to roam the house and that she wants a rocking chair in the room…(this is the area where a worker said he felt watched). Our daughter stays in this room and she said that when she stays there, she feels watched too. The craziest part, that room had a rocking chair that we moved into another room over 3 years ago…(we’re moving it back). He also said there were kids living in the home that passed probably in the 20’s-30’s, maybe from scarlet fever or something similar. Chris stated they live in our two middle bedrooms, the same rooms that 3 different couple that have stayed with us that have heard kids talking in the middle of the night! Chris became “one” with the home and assured us the home had good vibes, (which is how we’ve always felt). We know we are just the curators and another piece of history in our “happy place”. Chris is undoubtedly intuitive, and connected somehow. He is calming and confident and a wonderful vessel that connects the past with the curious. On top of all this Chris did a personal reading for my wife. She lost her parents way too early, and Chris was able to connect my wife to her parents with extremely specific information that NO One could guess or know. He assured my wife that her parents were together and they’re happy and in a better place. Some people may be creeped out by how accurate Chris’ reading can be, my wife was comforted. My mother-in-law, a friend, and I had a session with Chris this past weekend. First off, Chris is an awesome human! Chris's vibe was cool and he has the most amazing homey feeling spot for sessions. Before he even met us, Chris was kind enough to squeeze us in early because we requested a 2 hour appointment on somewhat late notice. Chris went out of his way to accommodate! We truly appreciate the kindness and patience he showed to us. We didnt tell him anything ahead of time. Chris only knew the name of the person who booked the session.

Getting into the session. It was an amazing experience! Some things that seemed to not be accurate, after digesting, journaling, and meditating about the session, I realized it did actually makes sense. It was just a lot of information to digest. I didnt make the connection until I had a chance to step away and process. Chris knew things about our loved ones that he couldn't have just generalized. Chris knew about specific family members who were struggling more than others. There is much, much more but I don't want to give it all away. The experience was educational and fun!

Chris offers so many services. Advice to new comers: Before going, really dig deep and explore what services Chris offers and what you want to explore. Doing this will help you focus more on what you want to accomplish. If you can see yourself going multiple times before having this experience, don't worry about researching and just wing it! I promise you won't be disappointed either way. I recommend going alone if you want want more information or lengthing the time if in a group. This experience was definitely something you will want to experience in person! If you can go in person, I highly recommend it! Plus Galena has so many great places. Chris has a FANTASTIC location! There is a hotel restaurant right across the street from his place. The food was AMAZING! The wait staff was top notch! Hands down the best service I've gotten in awhile.
