Courtyard Restaurant — Restaurant in Galena

This review is for General's restaurant.

The host and hostess acted like we were an inconvenience. Sorry that we customers pay for your paychecks - you should look for a job where you don't have to deal with customers. Maybe you could wash dishes instead? Anyway, this should have been a sign for us to not eat there.

I ordered crab bisque and ravioli with shrimp. Both were blah. I had them add shrimp for 7 bucks, and I got 2 medium sized shrimp on top of the bland ravioli.

My daughter had the Cesar salad, which tasted like they dumped a bunch of salt on it and it was drenched in dressing.

My wife ordered the house salad with salmon and dressing on the side. They brought out a cesar salad drenched in dressing and ranch dressing on the side, with the salmon on top. The waitress brought it back and they came back with the right salad but with the same salmon that was on the previous salad. So the salmon was lukewarm. At least heat it up!

Entertainment was an older gentleman playing on what sounded like a toy Casio keyboard stuck on the samba beat.

The bill was way overpriced. Ninety bucks, which included a 20 percent tip - I didn't want to penalize the waitress, she was friendly enough. What a major disappointment. I would not recommend this, nor will I...

Our first experience is likely our last.

In many restaurants they are understaffed, but this is not the case at the Courtyard Restaurant. They had so many servers that they all stood around chatting near the POS ordering station.

While no one feels that you should be waited on constantly at a restaurant, it is frustrating to be sitting without water or coffee for long periods of time while you sit and watch your server chat with the other servers.

Pros: The biscuit and gravy that I had as a side was delicious. I would recommend ordering this as a meal.

The two eggs were cooked perfectly to my order.

The food came out quickly and the order was accurate.

Cons: The hash browns tasted as if they were made the night before. They were dry and had no flavor.

The service was extremely slow despite having over a dozen servers and staff standing around.

It felt uncomfortable eating our meal as the other servers and staff stood and chatted while staring at us. The loudest noise in the restaurant was the employees chatting.

One of the worst breakfast resteraunt experiences ive ever had in all the places ive been in my travels. First the waitress got my group of four coffee and spilt all 4 cups individually as she set them in front of us. Ok no biggie just some coffee on the table wipe the splashes up. Then we get our food. Biscuits were doughy in the middle (we all had buicuts with our meal), egg was tastless and just so everyone knows a meal at this place is an appetizer its a very petite meal. The food I dont know how to explain. Tastless,no flavor, needs covered in sauce to even be edible without forcing yourself to eat it. Will not be going back. Beautiful place absolutely gorgeous but sadly the resteraunt is a second to any fast food. The service was non existent. 20min after finishing our food still no ticket. Finally i stood up and just waited which got the waitress attention. Then it was another several minutes gone by and we decided we werent waiting anymore so went to the desk to pay and had to yet again wait several minutes and mind you there was only 3 or 4 other groups in the entire resteraunt.
