Al was very respectful of the sites/people/ghosts/neighborhoods we were touring through, had thorough knowledge of galveston, and states he is an investigator of the paranormal not a ghost hunter. He would allow everyone time to ask questions and answer them. He would point out areas he suggested we take pictures of where prior ghosts had been sighted and showed us his own photos of those areas with his unexplained anomalies that might be ghosts. I'm a skeptic but on that tour we ourselves did catch a 2 second video of what appears to be a person walking through an empty building. Al was excited about our video and other people's pics that also had what appeared to be faces on them from the same building. I would 100% recommend families to go on the tour with Al. I read the bad reviews before posting this and I have to say they are indeed fake reviews based on my tour experience. My 13yr old daughter was very interested in the tour and was as interested in everything happening as I was. I never saw Al do anything to make anyone feel unwelcome, quite the opposite. And Al welcomed questions and had a deep knowledge base. No hokey ghost stories or BS, just information he has obtained from being a tour guide who actually talks with the home owners of the haunted residences and being a resident of galveston for many years.
As a matter of fact, we accidentally booked our tour 3 days after our vacation ended and showed up on the wrong day and Al let us take the tour that night instead. Truly went above and beyond to let everyone enjoy and feel a part of the spookier side of galveston in a safe...
Read moreAl's tour was amazing!! We were actually the only ones there and instead of canceling on us, Al took the two of us on a personalized private tour! He had so much information about Galveston, it was truly wonderful to hear about the history. The stories were interesting and a little creepy but, also respectful of the real people being spoken about. We really liked that! Al is thoughtful and kind and as he is walking and talking even takes the time to make sure you are safe at the same time. We loved that as he told the stories and history he would take the time to point out any tripping hazards so that we would not get hurt while engrossed in the story. That was impressive! He answered all our questions and it was more like having a conversation while walking with a friend! We cannot express it enough! If you want to learn a little Galveston history by someone who is knowledgeable, kind and funny, choose Al! It was walking for about an hour and a half but it goes by very quickly because you are engaged and having a wonderful time. It was not hard at all physically, there were no crazy inclines or tons of stairs; just walking around a nice, quiet neighborhood. Thanks Al, we look forward to your city tour when we are back in...
Read moreAwesome date night opportunity! Great tour for families too. Grandma came with us, so after the tiny humans were asleep, my far better half and I took the rare opportunity to sneak out on a date. I heard there were a lot of ghosts in Galveston so I wanted to grab a tour, give the wife a little scare for funsies. And Al delivered. We had a great time. Many towns claim to be haunted. This town really is. I have been on several ghost tours and the best ones are when the guide adds in the history and the backstory. It makes everything spookier and more interesting. Al delivered on that too. He was not just a ghost guide but more like a galveston guide. You can tell he loves this town and wants to share that with other people, which made the experience that much better. Cannot recommend enough. We did the downtown tour this time but next time we get out here we are going to do the...
