🌟 Star Drug Store Review – Honest but Still Giving Grace 🌟 Let me just start by saying: Star Drug Store is not your average lil’ pick-up spot. This place got history, character, and that old-school Galveston charm that makes you feel like you’re stepping into a postcard. ✨📮 I came here to pick up some packages—and baby, the process was smooth like butter on a warm biscuit. The first time I came? 10/10. Quick, easy, and the person helping me was sweet as pie. Now the second time? Ehh… not quite the same vibe. I did run into a server who wasn’t giving the friendliest energy, but look—I’m not gonna name names or drag it out. We all have off days. Maybe Mercury was retrograde or maybe sis just needed a hug. 🤷🏽‍♀️💁🏽‍♀️ I’m still giving this spot its flowers because the good outweighs the weird. You’re not just getting your packages—you’re getting a little Galveston moment. The aesthetic is vintage, the people-watching is top-tier, and it’s the kind of place where something random (but heartwarming) always seems to happen. Would I go back? Yup. Would I recommend it? Definitely. Would I hope the next server’s in a better mood? Absolutely. 😅 All love to Star Drug. You’re a classic. Side note: if you like McDonald’s Coke, I wouldn’t recommend ordering one from here. It’s on the superrr sweet side

This is my 2nd time ordering from here with my wife. The first time was alright. We got some greasy hungover breakfast that was actually pretty good and filling. Today I decided to try out the lunch items and boy was I incredibly disappointed. It turned me from a potential regular customer to not being interested in coming back. I ordered a Reuben with potato salad and my wife ordered the 1/2 pimento cheese sandwich with tomato soup. I'll start by saying that the potato salad was pretty good but it all went down hill from there. The Reuben was dry and the meat wasn't of great quality it also relied way too much on the sauerkraut. The Pimento sandwich was more like a fourth sandwich. It was TINY and the Pimento cheese was also somehow dry. It was closer to a block of cheddar than a pimento cheese spread. As for the tomato soup it was ok but it's not really what you'd expect out of a tomato soup. It was chunks of tomatoes in a broth. Quite confusing. Attached is the saddest photo of a pimento cheese sandwich. The photo really doesn't portray the size well it was serious like 1"x 1"x 3"

Honestly, horrible. Despite signs on the window saying only Service dogs... Brought my SERVICE dog here and was refused access because of other bad experiences with EMOTIONAL SUPPORT ANIMALS... I have her ID, records, and her tag on her for identification and proof. "I dont like dogs" was the owners response. I am massively disappointed. To add cherry on top, Bacon was not cooked properly either. Worst being that they violated my ADA laws. Bless the server, I know he was only doing his job and didn't know any better. How else would they know what my dog is, if they didn't ask. I told them it is a service dog, and they talk about ESA like my dog was that after, I clearly stated that she's a service animal, not a regular pet or ESA. I was forced to sit outside in the shade with wind blowing. I eventually got rather cold. Will never return to this place!

We travel to Galveston often with our toy poodle and love how Galveston is so dog friendly! Although we understand that dining outside is needed when we have we have her. My husband & I where looking for a place to have breakfast. We drove by the Star Drug Store and noticed someone leaving an outside table. Since we had our poodle with us, we sat at that table. We where very excited about trying a new place. The waitress said she’d get the table cleaned off right away. Then this sour faced old man marched out of the restaurant and told us we had to leave, that people where waiting for that table. He was extremely rude and he acted as if we intended to jump ahead of others. This was the first time for us at this place and simply didn’t realize there was a line of people inside. I tried to explain, that we just sat down outside because we had our poodle with us and we’d be glad to wait. But he didn’t let me finish my sentence and he raised his voice and everyone was staring. I was so embarrassed! We got up right away and left. We walked around the corner and I started crying. There was no need for him to be so rude to us! He should have just explained NICELY that there was a line. First time visit...bad review....will NEVER grace that place with our...
