Strand Brass and Christmas on The Strand — Local services in Galveston

We are in Galveston for my daughters birthday trip and we are walking the strand and having a great time! We’ve bought ice cream, shirts, food and have been following the crowds in and out of stores. I can legit say my crew just got profiled. I have never been followed around by staff in a store, CINDY WAS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. We were steps behind our kids the entire day. When I called her out on following us and why she hasn’t spoke to an adult, she said she did say something to an adult, and supposedly everyone of my kids. I told her she greeted us when we walked in, but you never said anything about concerns with our kids. Nobody has spoken to us about our kids "being suspicious". My friend even had a conversation with this woman about what they carry all year round and she never said anything. There were other young kids and teenagers in the store picking things up, tossing them down and running around. Nobody said ANYTHING about them. I’ve always worked in customer service, so I 100% get it. What CINDY and the rest of the staff did was UNPROFESSIONAL. Just makes me sick how CINDY made MY kids feel for just looking at things and taking pictures of their trip....

Very rude employees. I completely understand not wanting people people to touch around on things, BUT YOU TALK TO AN ADULT. They followed us, NEVER said a darn thing to AN ADULT. When we confronted the woman, Cindy about why she was following our kids, she said it looked like they were touching and trying to take things. When we asked her why she didn’t confront and adult about it and just talk to us, she said she DID talk to us. I said she did greet us when we walked in, but she NEVER said anything to us about our kids “touching” things. There were literally little kids running, tossing and dropping this back down, yet they wanted to profile our kids. We have 2 non white kids and we 100% believe they were watching our kids because of that. Our kid was even going to make a purchase and I told him absolutely not. That was crazy and I’ve never been on this side of customer service before. All they had to do was talk to an ADULT. I had even made conversation with Cindy and she didn’t say anything to me about...

I’ve been shopping here for years and always see something I have to have . When my Dad needs a gift for my mom this is where I send him because I know he’s in good hands with the crew at Strand Brass Christmas . It’s obvious this family operated business takes great care in selecting quality items for their store. And you can bet you’ll be treated nicely here . If you go nowhere else on the Strand , make sure you stop in this spot . By the way they’re on the ground level and easily accessible for those using a walker or wheelchair .
