Gilbert Gateway Towne Center — Attraction in Gilbert

I gave this location 3 stars because the staff is very friendly and welcoming. It would have been 2 stars if I had just been rating the food. The dinner rolls with the Cinnamon butter, and the cactus blossom are the best items here. Everything else we ordered was very plain and didn't have a lot of flavor. I had the country fried stake and mashed potatoes with vegetables. None of it was very good. There is way too much pepper on the country fried stake, and I like pepper. But that's the only thing I could taste. The potatoes were fine, just nothing special, and the vegetables had a rubbery texture. Like they had been sitting in warm water for hours. No one was excited about their food choices. We also had a regular hamburger and chicken strips. The hamburger was plain and tasted like nothing, and there was way too much breading on the chicken. It was like the frozen chicken you would get from the supermarket. It just wasn't a great dining...

The wait staff was great. She brought me an iced tea and it was like water. A manager came up and asked if we were ok. I said yes, except for the tea. She brought me a new one. We had our salad and then got our steak and side. My steak was overcooked. Medium, instead of medium rare. The server came over. I said it was overcooked. She said they would make another one. A little later she said it would be another 5 minutes. We were already getting our boxes and paying the bill when the steak still wasn't ready. We told them to just box it to go. She left and came back saying that the one meal was compted. And, they gave us more rolls and another loaded mashed potatoes. Really great service. Maybe work on the back of the house grill...

The customers seem to be more helpful than the staff. Thankfully there was a nice gentleman that was able to grab something I needed from the top shelf that I was unable to reach. Seems to ALWAYS be a delay when checking out 😢... self check out is difficult because staff are NOT readily available for items that don't scan properly. I, personally prefer to have someone check me out....want to keep cashiers in business.... but hey, you pay for what you get, right?!? They should pay ME for loading my own shopping cart, unloading my shopping cart, reloading my shopping cart, unloading my shopping cart in my vehicle AND taking the shopping cart back to...
