The customer does not come first at Westgate 20 AMC. This was our first time at an AMC and we were excited to have a little date out of it. So we went and got our tickets, and then concessions. We paid for the combo where its 2 large drinks with a large popcorn. We went to get the popcorn and drinks, and we noticed the popcorn was cold and didn't taste very fresh. So I went back to ask for new popcorn and the employee said "no problem it will just take a minute" and I responded with "No worries". After 5 minutes, a manager walked up to us, a female with short blonde hair (didnt get her name but got the manager Cashier number as 8229) walked up to us waiting by the counter and said "Is there something I can help you with?" with an accusatory tone. Being kind of thrown off, I said, "no we are just waiting for the popcorn." The manager stood there and stared, and my wife out of awkwardness told her our popcorn was cold. The manager said "oh, well our popcorn is at capacity so we can't make you guys fresh popcorn, so you'll have to come back for it in an hour if you guys want some." I was baffled as any other movie location that is not amc, would have popped fresh popcorn no question, like at harkins (they do it all the time). So I said "ok well we will probably just get a refund." The manager said "no problem."

The manager proceeds to charge us one more time by accident before actually refunding the popcorn properly. After this, my wife said after we walked away "Whats the point of our drinks since we didnt get the food with it?" I agreed and went back to return it. I asked the same manager if I could return it. She said no initially, but then radio'd to another manager??? Then told me no again. I asked saying "it wasnt our fault that we couldn't get the popcorn fresh so now we are stuck with $16 of drinks???" She shrugged it off and said "its because we dont return things that left the concessions." Side note, the popcorn they refunded ..... left concessions. Makes sense.

So I returned to my wife and told her we are leaving because they will not take care of the customer as it really upset me (especially since its so expensive to go to the theatres these days). I went up to the box office and the same manager was there and asked how she could help. I said, "I just need a refund for the tickets. Unless there's a way you guys could help us out with this concessions issue." She looked at me and said, "no there's no way to help." I said "That is crazy that you guys would rather take my $16 dollars than have a customer return back and spend more money with you guys" She responded back with "I guess everyone values things differently." I was blown away. I guess this is why they are going out of business as it was dead empty everywhere inside. Harkins never treated us like this and always took care of the customer. As we walked out the other manager was standing staring at us with a dirty look, so we threw our drinks in the trash can and left.

I'm writing this review to hopefully get some sort of refund on our drinks and to give AMC a chance to make things right. We will return if they take care of us. We reached out to customer service so I hope they take care of us, unlike in the theatre. Also I want to let AMC know that the 2 managers working on 9/12/25 at 1pm were extremely unprofessional and need to be addressed, as this was completely unacceptable in ways to treat and take care of customers. I will give an update on what AMC does to take care of this issue, if they do.

UPDATE: AMC reached out to me and offered not a refund but 2 free drink vouchers and 2 free movie ticket vouchers. I appreciate this and it says alot that they would care enough to...

I arrived an hour early. Then decided to watch a different movie. There are multiple machines to purchase tickets kind of like the red box explains what the movie is how long it all the information you need you click on the movie you want information you can always purchase your tickets ahead of time mobile there is someone behind the counter help when I arrived there wasn't a line wasn't that busy or packed even if it was I think it would go smoothly would they be a long wait for the concession stand there are separate lines again wasn't packed went straight up to the counter ordered pretzel with salt and cheese small popcorn give me the number on receipt to claim the pretzel and cheese once I got it I got like little bites or whatever they're called tiny pretzel pieces that's not what I wanted it was too late the packaging is cute I like that the little box that came in the taste I did not like they eventually got hard the cheese taste too sweet it may just be me I just like them both popcorn was more than enough I poured some in the little and gave the rest to a gentleman who arrived and seated in my row I did order a beverage alcohol they have a variety to choose from I enjoyed my movie my visit the place is very clean that wasn't really too greeting they wear nice and respectful they look bored maybe it was late and they wanted to go home I'm just glad that the theater was open late then I got to enjoy my time money well spent🍿🍾🎬

I will NEVER go back to this theater. I don’t like being rude, but hell no we were not going to eat that! So once he was getting the popcorn, his gloves were touching the popcorn too!!!🫣🫣🤮🤢 My husband went and told the manager, and they apologized but come on man, if your going to work the registers, sanitize your hand or wash them since your handling food afterwards too. He was a nice kid, but that was very unsanitary for others who ate popcorn after that too, I hope they replaced all the popcorn after that. We paid $64 on those snacks. We then went to watch our movie, left after 20 minutes, the seats were uncomfortable, and it smelled funky lol, it was a bad experience and I hope you guys get it together quick. And please teach your workers safe ways to keep others from getting sick, my husband and I had stomach aches when we left too, we threw away the other food we got too. Wasted all that money for nothing. It was sad because my sons really wanted to watch the movie too. Thanks for reading our review. This is a pic of how the bathroom was when I walked in. I wonder why there was a trash bag in the sink lol.

I will NEVER go back to this theater. First of all, the person helping us in the concession stand, was wearing gloves, and started rubbing his nose and eyes right in front of us while he was taking our order. And that’s not all, once he finished taking our order, he walked over, and used the same gloves to get our popcorn and cups, pretzel bites for our sons. I don’t like being rude, but hell no we were not going to eat that! So once he was getting the popcorn, his gloves were touching the popcorn too!!!🫣🫣🤮🤢 My husband went and told the manager, and they apologized but come on man, if your going to work the registers, sanitize your hand or wash them since your handling food afterwards too. He was a nice kid, but that was very unsanitary for others who ate popcorn after that too, I hope they replaced all the popcorn after that. We paid $64 on those snacks. We then went to watch our movie, left after 20 minutes, the seats were uncomfortable, and it smelled funky lol, it was a bad experience and I hope you guys get it together quick. And please teach your workers safe ways to keep others from getting sick, my husband and I had stomach aches when we left too, we threw away the other food we got too. Wasted all that money for nothing. It was sad because my sons really wanted to watch the movie too. Thanks for reading our review. This is a pic of how the bathroom was when I walked in.
