Our first visit to this location and it wasn’t good. The service by our waitress, Jasmine was great. She was prompt, and had a consistent smile of kindness. However, the food that we ordered was not what up to First Watch’s great quality cafe food standard that we have known in the past. We ordered a hash skillet with eggs over medium, a chorizo omelet, a quinoa and kale, with crimini mushrooms and roasted tomatoes also with over medium eggs. The other two entrees we ordered were not an issue. The chorizo omelette had nothing that tasted or appeared like chorizo and was not savory as it is at the other First Watch location (Happy Valley)we regularly dine at. Same for the hash… we ordered the eggs over medium, but the eggs were so very undercooked, not a bit near over medium. The whites were still clear and leaked all over the potatoes. We told Jasmine and she gave us the option to have the whole hash remade, to which we replied yes please, to avoid raw food consumption/ contamination. This happened as well with my quinoa bowl! The eggs were definitely not over medium. The whites were clear inside and the yolks broke and ran at the placing of the plate on table. The quinoa was clumped together and barely warm. The kale, there were like 10 small pieces of a leaf itself. We had that dish remade too. They were left at the table. Jasmine brought out the two remade plates. We checked our eggs first. The hash eggs were cooked over well and my daughters were fine with eating it. Mine, the eggs were worse than the first time. I let jasmine know and asked for just a plain Belgian waffle instead. She removed the two egg dishes off of our ticket and was sincerely kind the whole time. We are surprised that a manager didn’t come to our table to check on this situation, that repeated . Jasmine stated “that the grill may have not been working or was too high maybe?…” I said , if it was higher then the eggs would be cooked but I believe someone didn’t know what they were doing in the kitchen. This was displeasing. This is our tradition with our family and birthday breakfast at First Watch… this was my husbands 40th birthday breakfast. It was not good food that we are used to at FirstWatch. We chose this location as its closer to our new home. How can this be rectified First Watch Westgate? Images will be posted . :( bill was...
Read moreFirst time coming here and I gotta say, the service was amazing! We sat at the bar and we were greeted quickly by the bartender. We ordered the French toast & a skillet. The French toast was delicious, but I wish there was more fruit on there with a more even ratio as there wasn't a lot of kiwi & strawberries in comparison to the amount of bananas. My husband enjoyed his skillet and we were both full and satisfied with what we ordered. Will definitely come back to try other items on their menu.
2023-08-19 My husband convinced me to go back here for a second time and I decided to try something different on their menu so I went with the Classic Benedict with potatoes. Having tomatoes on a classic Benedict threw me off a bit, but it was a nice companion. The potatoes were over seasoned, making it extremely salty and I wasn't able to eat much of it. If you do get potatoes ask for it to be well done, unless you like them slightly undercooked. The lemon juice in the hollandaise sauce was very powerful and gave the entire Benedict a weird taste. The poached egg was small and instead of using an English muffin, they used one long ciabatta slice. The service was good as it was the first time, but this food experience doesn't have me wanting to go back anytime soon.
2024-01-05 We found ourselves back here and I'm glad we did. We did wait for about 20-25 minutes to get seated since we didn't check in online prior to our arrival, but the time went by quickly. My husband had his usual skillet, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice and I tried something different. I had the market hash and a kale tonic juice. The kale tonic was awesome and the hash was good, if they use less oil then it would be perfect. The only thing I'd have to remember is to ask for no butter on my toast as they use a lot. I'd have to change my mind and add first watch into the weekend...
Read moreFirst Watch has become one of my favorite spots for a hearty breakfast or a relaxed brunch. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere — bright, airy interiors with natural light streaming in, and a casual yet polished vibe. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, making you feel valued from the start.
The menu is a perfect balance of healthy options and indulgent comfort food. I appreciate how they use fresh, high-quality ingredients, often with a creative twist. The avocado toast here is elevated with perfectly seasoned fresh veggies, and their Million Dollar Bacon is exactly what it sounds like — rich, sweet, smoky perfection. For those who like classic breakfasts, the pancakes are fluffy and generously portioned, while the omelets are packed with flavor.
One thing that stands out is their seasonal menu, which keeps things exciting. Whether it’s a refreshing watermelon wake-up drink in the summer or a cozy pumpkin pancake in the fall, they know how to make each visit feel fresh.
Service is consistently great — orders come out quickly, coffee refills arrive without asking, and staff are knowledgeable about the menu. It’s also worth noting that they cater well to dietary needs, offering gluten-free and vegetarian options without compromising taste.
Overall, First Watch isn’t just about eating breakfast; it’s about starting your day in a pleasant, uplifting environment with food that feels both wholesome and satisfying. Highly recommended for anyone who values quality and freshness in a casual...
