Edit: I used to love this church. My husband had been going since 1992. The one complaint I always had about the church was that there was very little social interaction. There used to be several programs that you could get involved in though, if you needed or wanted to do so. They had these really cool groups called Set Free and each group would be specific to an addiction you had, or something you needed support for. This was around a decade ago, and it was very helpful and led to some really beautiful friendships. They also used to have choir which I was a part of for several years. Slowly they started doing away with all of those though and nothing to replace them. For several years they had no youth group to speak of, which my daughter really missed out on. As soon as Pastor Dan took over things started to go downhill. I was in denial for a long time, because I loved coming every Sunday and saying hi to familiar faces and volunteering in the kids programs. The preaching is very disjointed and often doesn’t make sense. Pastor Dan has many times said very disparaging things about anyone who is overweight and claimed that you don’t become overweight due to depression which I found extremely offensive. He has made several racist comments as well and the Sunday before the election told outright lies about the Democratic Party. Even if you are not a Democrat, I find it offensive that anyone would fear monger and straight out lie from the pulpit and make claims that God will judge you harshly based on who you vote for. It was very disturbing and it was the final straw for us. Since leaving, we have found a very welcoming and warm church which preaches the word instead of politics, judgement about appearances and racism. I’m sad to see it go down...
Read moreSomewhat a shrinking mega-church, but still draws the crowd. Facility is clean and professional. Rapidly stacked messages from the pulpit presents as a well rehearsed word salad. Musical performers performance is professional TV pop with disco strobe lights, artificial smoke and so loud my ears were hurting. If I were to ever return earplugs are a must. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Faith's philosophy, a mix of political correctness and prosperity gospel. As I attended the main service I observed a repetitive message; you deserve by hoping mixed with cajoling for money. An exploit of impulsive compassion. A message to mute careful reasoning and activate undifferentiated empathy. Hope and optimism while demonizing any reality that causes stress. Tithing profits bleed from the housing bubble and currently the education bubble is encouraged to self destructive excess.
A common expectation that leads to bitterness with this church is you will be helped in your time of need. This bitterness is exacerbated by the pastoral staffs conspicuous consumption, leisure and cosmetic augmentation, real or fabricated, while aggressively encouraging donations. A prudent way to view this is your paying for a show; that's it and nothing more. Countless testimonials have proven help will never come from this church.
Entitlement thinking without sacrifice and hard work is effective in exploiting others, we are what we do. Political correctness is very toxic to young boys. Classic stories and lessons from the Bible are pretty much irrelevant, a single verse may be referenced. Few bring their own Bible. When compared to traditional Christian churches I would consider Faith Community a completely...
Read moreGood evening, this is with sadness that I share my experience with you regarding the resurrection service at FAITH Community Church today. My experience today was not good. My hope was to be fed with the word of God without a script. Thanking the lord for loving and saving us all. Today was to be about him and him only. Not about our own children. We know the son of pastor Dan, Senior is proud of his son and his endeavor, but today was about our father JESUS CHRIST of Nazareth who gave his life for all of us. The other thing that bothered me, is pastor Dan, Junior, seems to wand to be more comic than serious when giving service. We have a lot of people in need who are starving to hear the word of God and not to be comical about the Bibble or the word. At the end of the service, they mentioned there would be prayer individuals for those who needed prayer. Well, there was no one there. A lot of us kept going back and forth asking for those prayer individuals. I came across the paster Dan, Juniors wife and asked if she would pray for me. She looked at me like, I was bothering her, so another woman from the FAITH team offered to pray for me. This was not a great experience. They are supposed to represent the lord all mighty and not be bothered by any of us asking for prayer. The word of God is not to be made a comical joke either. This church was in my life for a season, but it's time to move on to a new chapter. A new chapter of the word of the most high lord of lords, king of kings, our father JESUS CHRIST who gave his life for all....May...
