Myself EoS Fitness Member for seven years since 2018 Worked out regularly at over 10 EoS locations in Valley area from Gilbert to Buckeye Working out at Goodyear location regularly since 2022
The good:
The jacuzzi was recently resurfaced and relaid, it's super clean and fresh, now. Emilio is a young, high-energy manager with great attitude who will listen to members and get down with the crew on cleaning and maintaining. He'll get down and mop and scrub toilets with his teammates or even by himself. I've watched him many times at different hours. Emilio and his Service team will go out of their way to maintain memberships with members and arrange fee redistribution for struggling families.
But...
The bad:
If managers (Emilio or others) are not present, no cleaning is done by the rest of the staff. Cat's-away type thing.
They play the music WAY too loud. Music selection includes waaaay too much drug-use and prositution themes. We're here to better our minds and bodies through focus and perspiration: why play such demotivational content? Many of us would rather the gym staff not play any overhead music at all than have to hear such garbage and at such high volumes.
No rules enforcement for machine crowding and "saving for friends", so you'll large crowds of 3, even 5 men standing around one member on a machine, with no one actually using it, for up to twenty minutes at a time. It's come to the point where, when politely asking if anyone is using unit, they'll do the typical bully scenario pretending like they don't know what's going on and they don't know who's using it but someone must be and then pretending to take offense at the question. When gym locations get to this point, violence usually ensues inside the gym or nearby outside, I've seen it multiple times in different cities. FAFO kind of thing.
No rules enforcement for slamming weights, so weight pins and weight pulleys are broken very often No rules enforcement for bringing weights in sauna, locker, or pool, so weights go missing all the time
Staff does not enforce workout-area tidiness, so weights are left everywhere and taken everywhere Personal trainers and EoS Coaches are part ofthe crew who does not put weights back, I've watched them take multiple clients through exercises and then tell them to leave their weights at the workout area without putting them back, that someone else will find them and do it. Then of course the weights stay there all day haphazardly and after a couple of days of this you can't find any weights anywhere and you get workout pads under the pullup bars and 10-lb weights all rolled up under the machines and the pulley columns.
Staff almost never tidies up the weight area for weight-selection even during downtime or low foot-traffic, so we're left running around looking for missing weights
Immigrant labor used for cleaning, they clean only once or twice a week Immigrant cleaners do not scrub under toilet lips Immigrant maintenance never cleans the showerheads Immigrant maintenance never changes the air filters or cleans the overhead air grills Immigrant labor will shut down bathrooms or send opposite-sex family members into women's and men's showers while cleaning. Immigrant labor recently authorized to take belongings from lockers on account of unlocked lockers
Sewer flies and mosquitos in mens shower Sauna floor left grimey and crusty for days at a time Two out of six showerheads never fixed for two years, no pressure Four of six showerheads leak 24x7 Men's shower soap dispensers will go empty for multiple days before refill Multiple machine armatures not tightened, loose bolts
Missing weights,...
Read moreOh my gosh, this place is a nightmare/ traumatized If I could give them negative stars I would. First day I was so excited it was near my house, so I went there as soon as I started working on machine the sneaky guy name: Sam come to me, I was offered free trial after he found out I am new person at gym, of course why not ℹ except that then my second day SAM said “you can $19.99 two week personal trainer trial. I specifically said I wanted NO CONTRACT. But I can pay $19.99 for two weeks Sales guy told me I was just signing to authorize the two sessions. Went for 3 session and was told I was signed up for $88. every 2 weeks for 12 months!!! I tried to Cancelled it immediately to gt my money back, they said I can’t I have to do the training , I said I am not even in town, I was traveling plus I don’t have that kinda money to afford those type training, I beg him to cancelled contract. He said okay I will do so But sure enough you STILL hit my bank account for the $88. two weeks later , I catch that when they charged me 3 times. Predatory sales tactics and awful customer service. I went there in person to manager 4 times, he was not sure what to do without the guy who signed me up, so he told me to come back next day, when he is here. When I come back manager was not there but the guy who signed me up (Sam) was there. He told me apparently he cant canceled the contract until I reached 10/16 sessions. Okay I said wow so I need to wait them to keep correct $88 for 10 times before I gt my full refund $880. So I agree because I had no other way to gt my money back $352. after i reached 10 sessions charged which is $880 I went in happy thinking I am going to receive my $880 and cancelled it. When I get there, it was new manager and that guy who signed me up was also relocated to different gym as manager told me “ The manager. So the new manager checked everything then all he told me is “I can’t receive my refund” it doesn’t work that way, They can only offered me to do the sessions or lose the money” I said whattttt??? Whole 10 charges $880 I been patiently waiting for you to even take money from my bank this is what you guys told me? made me had heartache I almost passed out and all I did was crying 😭 😭😭in front of him I didn’t know what to said when he told me that. I had plan for my money 💰. I was so sad 😭
I left called my bank after 5 days I could not believe it, how they play me so I reported that to my bank and bank gave me refund but when they did investigation they said “ I was signed to do those training sessions “ so MY BANK TOOK THE MONEY BACK after 2 months. Every time I see the EOS GYM ugh 😩 it’s trauma My bank now soon enough will be sending me in collection letters?! I am struggling to pay off that money, I am getting ready to sue this gym no joke. This is time consuming and severely traumatizing!!! I WANT TO FORGET I EVER WALKED INTO YOUR GYM! EOS need to do something about this gym. ITS...

It’s been a while since I’ve seen chalk/liquid chalk slathered on the benches. Thank you, EOS staff.
Equipment maintenance and cleanliness are still top notch, especially for a gym with this much traffic.
However, now there’s a new issue: the gym used to have 2.5lb change plates, but those have disappeared over the past few months. I asked the front desk about this and was told they get “asked this question all the time,” and that I should visit the Dysart location where “they have a lot of them.” Why not have 2.5lb plates here, too, especially when you used to? And why would staff recommend that members just go to another location to use them, especially when this is clearly something that’s asked about frequently? It’s a major inconvenience to only have 5lbs as the smallest plate increment for barbell loading. Even if you don’t want to keep them on the floor for some reason, can you at least allow members to check them out from the front desk or something? I’d rather not have to transfer my single-club membership to another location just to have access to equipment that should be standard at every facility.

Original review:
Actually one of the best EoS locations around. The staff are friendly and, contrary to what some of the other reviews say, do a good job keeping the gym relatively clean for the number of people that come through here daily. Equipment maintenance is also some of the most consistent I’ve seen in a commercial gym, which means that when a machine does go down, it’s usually not for more than a week. Unless you’re doing the same workout every time you come in, hopefully you only have to sub in an exercise once before going back to it.
The gym is always crowded, but that’s expected when you’re a budget option catering mostly to high school/college students. Not knocking it for that.
Honestly, this would be at least a 4* location if they did a better job enforcing some of the club policies.
Sure, your tie dye shorts with the 3” inseam look cool, that’s why you wear them to gym for every workout, but you don’t need to use standard plates on the oly platform to deadlift 315 for 32 sets of 1. It just damages the platforms for everyone else. That’s why there are signs on all the platforms asking you not to use the standard plates. And spoiler alert, you can fit 3 bumpers on each side of the bar with plenty of room left.
And while we’re at it, you don’t need to lather the benches with a quart of liquid chalk before a max set of 225 for a double at a bodyweight of 300. I promise you’re not going...
