The Escape House 2 — Attraction in Grand Junction

We recently did the Dragon Alley room and we were all a bit disappointed. One of us is a serious Harry Potter fan so we were very excited. 4 of us have done other escape rooms elsewhere, we have always gotten out, 2 have never done one and we all shared the same experience. This room was rated intermediate, so we thought it would be great. The tools, decorations, set up were all very nice, fun and appropriate. The things that we felt were negatives are that we were separated into 2 areas, that was ok with us, one area you have to crawl into which was fine, but it was like being in 2 small closets and it was pretty rough with 3 of us walking around each other trying to find clues. The folks in the other room were also trying to find clues but it was very disjointed trying to pull it together. There were at least 7 locks and other key pads that we had to find combinations for, the puzzles did not have a flow to them, the hints didn't always help, and we probably got only about 60% of the way through. The employee helping us said there is only a 54% success rate in that room, which shocked us all. His next comment was, "I could tell you the pieces that you missed, but since there are so many you are welcome to come back and finish." That also did not go over well. Most of us heard "We make this hard so you can't succeed and can spend more money to try again." He also said the difficult rooms have an 8% success rate which for us is ridiculous. If we hadn't all the other rooms elsewhere I think we may have felt differently about this, as we did have fun, but we all went away with headaches, feeling frustrated, and agreed we wouldn't...

Absolutely love this place!! First time being inside of a house for an escape room and it was top notch. Brilliantly formulated rooms with beautifully crafted “movie sets” (that’s how good the environment and themes of the rooms were). I highly recommend Slaughterhouse Gulch. It’s a bit intense and a little scary due to the mature content of the room but soooo good. Also wizards of dragon alley was so much fun and very well tailored to the story while keeping the room challenging. Last but not least the game masters are the main attraction of this escape room. They were very fun and enthusiastic about your experience. They are very helpful regarding hints and will accommodate to your experience level. They are very responsive to when you need help as well. There were 4 of us on friday Aug 9th 2024 and we did the slaughterhouse gulch room and it was a terrible experience it was our sons first escape room so we really were hoping it would be great but that room was completely black no lights whatsoever only a small lantern and they said we could use our phones but how can you hold your phone light and unlock a lock I felt sad and frustrated I thought the should offer us to do another room but that wasn't offered I have done them before I wasn't like this I talked to my other son who said he did that same escape room at the other Escape house not the one on North Avenue and they had the lights on From now on when I reserve a room I will ask if the lights are going to...
