I went to Leicht Memorial Park Music Festival - Sundays, 4-6:30. I went to listen to music and change my bicycle tire which I wanted to do for weeks. I was greatly surprised by the quality of the bands, especially Rumble from New Orleans. They are as good as Green Bay's Glam Band. While changing my tire a stranger who knew how to change a tire helped me. Two people, Andy & Michael from Community Bike, a free Bike shop in Green Bay, also helped. I decided to come when I found out the Oneida Indians were dancing. So cool. It was fun to watch children and adults join the dancing. Rumble rocked and the whole crowd danced with their oncore. Read moreWe headed down to the park for a hot air balloon event the other week and had a blast. There were vendors selling just about everything, food stalls, art projects to make for the kids, live music and tons more! At dusk they inflated a dozen hot air balloons and lit them all up at the same time, it was brilliant!
There are a number of events at the park each year and all are worth going to. There is lots of room to sit on the grass with a picnic lunch or something from a local vendor to eat. Parking is cheap, or free somedays, and within easy walking distance. There are also a number of great downtown businesses that you can wander through within a block or two...
Read moreThis park serves as a nice breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of downtown. It's really more of a patch of grass with parking next to the river. Regardless, I have stopped here many times just to take a break from it all.
