First time visiting a gastropub (gastropub meaning "high quality food"). We were seated right away. The waitress was quick to take our drink order. We placed our food order shortly thereafter. All four of us determined that it was taking a very long time to get our food. At least 30 minutes had passed. The highlight of the evening was the bourbon BBQ burger with added bacon. It was very good, but for $14.99 for a burger and fries that won't happen again. The mule was also a nice drink. The Mac and cheese was nothing special, just average. The Bulgogi steak frittes was again average at best. For $17.99 one would expect it to be a "higher quality" than other restaurants. The fries were nice and crisp and seasoned, but the steak needed some attention as it was a bit chewy and lacked the Korean BBQ flavor. Who wants to pay $17.99 for a bowl of fries with a few scraps of meat thrown on them? To be fair, there were a few pieces of onion and carrot shavings on top as well. I think that is what was part of the kimchi. The boneless beef short ribs on garlic mashed potatoes was also just average. The garlic roasted mashed potatoes had very little garlic flavor and it did have lumps (just like homemade). The shot ribs themselves were nice and tender, but the stout-infused veal demi was very thick and lacking.

This restaurant was a train station at one point decades ago. The evening we were there they had live music outside. Initially we sat outside but moved inside so we could hear each other talking. There are still elements of the train station which is pretty cool, I dig trains. The person we met for dinner said that when you are in Wisconsin you have to order cheese curds. So I ordered poutine! The french fries were good, the cheese sauce, brown gravy, and cheese curds on top were surprisingly tasty. We ordered the Mediterranean salad and fish and chips. Our friend ordered the Mediterranean salad as well. The fish was crispy and seasoned with a breading that was not thick and bready(sp?) The fries were flavorful. I had a piece of chocolate cake that tasted way better in the hotel room late at night. Our friend lives near Green Bay and had been to the Depot before. When we go for football this year we will stay at the same hotel and visit the Depot again. Of course I forgot to take photos of the food.

Great perch fish fry! Fresh, hot and tasty. Great portion for price. Bruschetta was pretty good as well. I had a friendly server but was a little thrown off upon arrival. There was an abundance of staff at the bar but none seemed eager to greet or seat me. Two other staff members passing by noticed me and greeted me but seemed resistant on who would be bringing me out to patio seating - both of them saying something about just clocking in. I enjoyed my meal overall and watched them set up for a live band night. I overheard another conversation about miscommunications on flow/set up of patio space. I got the vibe that they shouldn’t have seated me where I was because they began moving the rest of the tables out of the way and I felt rushed to get out of there so they could finish setting up the space. I would have liked to sit a bit longer and enjoy the weather and view but because of this I scooted along quicker than I would’ve.

I have never written a restaurant review but felt the need to after my experience at the Depot Gastropub last night. My daughter and I split the Cranberry Turkey Melt. The sandwich came and the bread was soggy and not at all how the waitress had described the it when I asked prior to ordering the sandwich. My daughter and I both took one bite of the sandwich and did not finish the rest. When the waitress finally came to ask how everything ing was I told her about the sandwich. She asked if we wanted something else but told us it would be a while because the orders are made in the order that they are taken. We declined as my other daughter was almost finished with her meal. The waitress brought the check and had not taken the sandwich off of the bill which I felt I should not have to pay for seeing that the bread was soggy and it was not eaten. She said that I could talk to a manager if I would like. Ten minutes later the waitress came back without the manager and said that she was told that she could not take the meal off of my bill. I asked to speak with the manager. The manager came to our table 10 minutes later. I have NEVER been talked to so rudely by a restaurant employee in my entire life. This female manager was arguing in a loud sarcastic manner with me in front of the entire outside patio, talking to me like I was a five year old and refused to take the sandwich off of my bill. I do not complain about food very often but when I have at other establishments, the waitress typically apologizes, offers to get me something else quickly, and takes the meal off the bill without question. I am honesty shocked, and so are my two teenage daughters, at the way that this manager acted and treated me. This was my first time eating at the Depot Gastropub and I will...

A few years ago, we gave The Depot a shot and unfortunately we left disappointed. We decided to try it again tonight, and now we know for sure we will not be back. 😔

There were only a handful of people at the restaurant, and we waited almost 50 minutes for boneless wings, and a chicken pesto sandwich. After witnessing everyone around us, who were seated/ordered after us, get served first, we asked about our food. The server said she would check on it and when she came back to our table about 10 minutes later, she said that they messed up the chicken pesto sandwich and that’s why it was taking so long. So you can imagine my surprise when the food finally arrives and the chicken pesto sandwich consisted of a dried bun, pesto with minimal flavor, a cold piece of mozzarella, and the smallest piece of chicken I have ever seen on a sandwich. 😩 Hardly worth the $16! The chicken wings were more like chicken nuggets in a sauce and the fries were complete grease.

My husband and I are definitely not picky when it comes to going out to eat because we are not the best cooks… so we are quite easy to please 😂, but this was ridiculous. We do not mind waiting that long for food if it is quality, but this was mediocre at best. It was a complete waste of $40. I’m also not one to leave reviews, but we felt like we should warn people so they don’t have the same...
