I am absolutely appalled at how this location has handled and treated my family. We booked a room on Tuesday evening for Thursday. On Wednesday, my nephew woke up and tested positive for Covid and my other nephew wasn’t feeling well. They are visiting from Maryland and will be leaving Friday. Breakout games website says it has a strict no refund policy but does say under certain circumstances they can offer a refund. Since my nephews are only visiting, we wouldn’t be able to reschedule and felt this situation warranted a refund. I called on Wednesday, my husband called on Wednesday, my father called on Wednesday, my mother called on Wednesday. Voicemails were left requesting a manager to please call us back. No call back, nothing. My husband emailed corporate and we’re waiting to hear back. In the meantime, my mother just called to get some kind of response of what’s going on (our card was charged $158 and we’ve received no communication of even simply saying “we’ve reached out to corporate for you, etc”). The woman who claims she’s a supervisor, named Angie, was completely rude. My mother, obviously frustrated, told her some kind of update or phone call returned would have been nice and Angie got rude and snippy with her and then hung up on my mother. This is not how you treat people. My mom did not yell, but used a firm and frustrated tone, and rightfully so. All Angie kept saying in return was, “well I’m sorry you don’t like our policy”, to which my mother said, “it’s not your policy it’s the lack of communication.” I am the most non-confrontational person and I rarely leave bad reviews, but I am definitely looking forward to speaking to...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to try our hand at our first escape room after dinner for our anniversary. We didnt want to be in a room with strangers so we were really excited to see that the rooms are private (meaning your reservation will only include your party). We booked online about an hour out and found lots of options for times and room themes. We picked one at random that sounded fun. We arrived and the check in process was super simple and the girls at the front were so nice. We tried our hand at some of their sample locks on display while we waited for our room to be ready. The girl that oversaw our attempted escape, her name was Ansley, was so sweet and informative. She helped us immediately when we needed it and definitely helped steer us in the right direction when we started to veer off course. We ALMOST finished the puzzle in time (give us an extra 2minutes and we would have had it)... but, alas, once the timer ran up and we sank to the bottom of the ocean in our submarine, we were impressed with ourselves in how close we got on the hardest room with only the 2 of us doing it for the first time!! The puzzles were each unique and challenging without being super out of left field. The "story" was easy to follow and the flow from puzzle to puzzle felt natural. We would absolutely do this again and felt like it was the PERFECT date activity for a rainy night. So much fun that we have been talking and laughing about it ever since. I think, even though we almost finished it, we would still enjoy doing the same room again a second time! All in all, 20/10 experience. We will be...
Read moreI wish there was a way to rate employees and companies differently but there is not and so the review I am leaving is strictly based on the room Kidnapped. First I will give context to my opinion. I am an avid escape room junkie. I have done over 200 rooms that spanned through the US and Europe. The check in process was very typical nothing bad there. The staff was not bad. The concept of the room is good and enticing with the idea of starting locked up and blind folded but that’s as much immersion as you will get. The room is too dark with really no opportunities to get any more light. This is a warning to all my people who do not have amazing eye sight. I had readers on and still could not interpret many of the clues that relied on color etc. The room itself was stale and not legible. It’s like walking into an inside joke where only the game masters get it. That is of course not all of the clues because we did figure out a lot but they were not good. I personally like instant gratification after solving a clue. For example something opens, happens or you get something to be used that has a flow to it. That is not this room. For much of the room you are solving things that can not be used by themselves. It is one room and really the only reason it takes so much time is that it’s so dark and clues are not cohesive. I would say this room is a 1 star but that’s not fair as a review because everything else was average. So I rate this room...
