Lead recruiter emailed me asking “me” for help in filling open positions. I had applied with RH years ago, sent an updated resume and could absolutely “fill” seven of the seventeen jobs RH supposedly has open. I asked to be removed from their email list, due to their non-response and received a nice email from the lead recruiter stating I was not a match for the “specialized” jobs (AP/AR, Staff accountant) they had open. I find it interesting that the same jobs they are advertising, I was offered a position for the SAME job, by another recruiting firm. If you look at the one star reviews first, and the dates, then you will see all these five star reviews pop up. RH now calls the company I work for repeatedly, trying to get their business to fill our open positions. After my experience with RH, and my current company’s experience with me, my experience speaks for itself. RH lost a great, solid candidate. One word of advice to new candidates, prior to applying for jobs, have a professional write your resume. I wrote mine originally and sent it to RH, which he disregarded me for every other position. I had a professional resume writer redo my resume, and received a new job offer within two months and I LOVE my new job!
Recruiting is a tough job, I understand that. My suggestion is before you disregard applicants, then turn around and ask for the applicants help in filling your positions, actually speak to current candidates in person, help them with their resume (if needed) or refer an applicant to a resume writer. I am a numbers person, not a writer, which is a weakness of mine. But, accounting is numbers, and numbers is my strength which is not always reflected when I write about myself. I sent my new (updated) resume to RH, and did not receive one response from them, but I did from ten other recruiting firms when I posted it on the jobs websites (i.e. Career Builder, Indeed, etc)
RH is a brand, slightly snobby and their brand is getting to their heads. Many of my colleagues have had the...
Read moreAlexander Hagen, a “recruiting manager”, contacted me about a position out of this office and I responded with job-specific details. I never heard anything from Alexander, and then he sent me the same job opportunity again a few days later. I provided my information a second time and still never heard back from Alexander. I continued to try and follow-up with Alexander to see if he received my responses to the job opportunity. Alexander completely ignored me, and I still haven't heard a word from him - completely unprofessional. If a "recruiting manager" contacts a candidate about the same job (twice) and the candidate provides the requested information, it's common courtesy to at least acknowledge receipt of the information requested. It takes less than a minute to send a quick reply like - "received your info", "sorry, doesn't look like a good fit after all", "position has been filled", etc. Completely ignoring someone who takes time out of their schedule to provide information requested by the "recruiter" is not the answer, and very...
Read moreI'm sure some people have positive reviews for here, but I'll share my experience:
The first recruiter that I met with I told her that my exit date was a month or so away and she told she would reach out to me at a later date. When that date was coming I tried messaging her and got no replies so wrote it off. After I had given up my job search several months later I heard from her on a new message thread, having no recollection of ever talking to me or not replying to my emails.
The second recruiter I met with emailed me. I responded within a few hours and tried to set a date. I didn't hear anything for a week. Once I heard back we set a date and time during business hours. Once that date and time came, I got an email saying they were on another call that ran long and would have to reschedule.
Save yourself the trouble. There are plenty of recruiters that actually prioritize relationships with their candidates or care about who they're hiring. These guys don't...
