I highly recommend finding a CORPORATE Verizon location. This is an authorized location, not a corporate location. Dealing with the Verizon on Greenwich Ave in Greenwich, CT has been a nightmare. On Sept 30th I went into the store to switch from my ATT account to my family's Verizon account. I was trading in a phone to receive credit for a new one. In order to switch my number to Verizon, I had to port it out of ATT and provide Verizon with a transfer pin. I successfully ported my number out of ATT so all the reps needed to do, as they explained, was port the number into the existing Verizon account that I was joining. They provided me my new phone and I began to set it up. I set up the new E-sim and the phone worked. So far this all took about 30 minutes. At that point, the manager told the rep that he did the transaction incorrectly as he forgot to add the phone trade in value towards the new phone, thus he had to start over. The rep then called Verizon support to try and rectify the situation, but only made it worse. I was sitting there for over 3 hours while he was trying to fix the situation. He was completely distracted, taking new customers while also trying to solve my situation. After 4 total hours of being there, I was told by the rep that my phone number is in "limbo" for the next 24 hours due to "too many attempts to get into the account". This in itself makes no sense, as I was sitting there next to the rep for the entirety of the phone call with the information he needed. Fast forward to today, October 1st. I went back into Verizon to start the process over again. I handed him the trade in phone, then he asked me which phone I wanted to purchase. I told him which one I wanted and told me it was on backorder until October 18th. I said that's fine. As soon as he completed the transaction he said so what do you want to do about your phone until now and then. I had another phone with me (not the one I was trading in) so I asked him to transfer the number to that phone. He told me that my phone number is now associated with that new phone and I will have to wait until October 18th when the phone arrives to have my phone number back. I said this makes no sense and he backtracked on this statement, telling me that I actually need to go to ATT and tell them that I want my number temporarily ported back while I wait for my new phone to come in. I knew that this was incorrect but I went back to ATT anyways, and when they looked into they saw that Verizon already accepted my phone number and there is absolutely nothing ATT can do unless Verizon ports the number back.
I do not have access to my phone number due to incompetency of this Verizon branch. This branch mishandled the situation every step of the way. Save yourself the time and frustration and do not deal with...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I went to this store because my LG phone died the day before my family vacation. I was very upset with Verizon in general for the phone dying within a year and a half of us purchasing it. We walk in late in the afternoon, after work, knowing we are leaving the next morning for vacation, also knowing I need a new phone before we left. After George, our rep, looked at my phone he confirmed that is was fried, ughhhhhh!!! So I looked around for a decent phone for not a high price and settled on another LG. Took it on vacation and hated it!! So we're back from vacation for a week and my husbands LG (the same phone i had, that died) also DIED!! We call verizon to see if they can help us out and they completely couldn't hav cared less. Told them we would be dropping them as a carrier after over 10 years with them and the girl literally said that was fine. Went back to Verizon today to return the phone knowing there was a $35 restocking fee. I was going to just put an old barely working phone on for the time being until I could look into other options with other carriers. I spoke to the regional manager and George. They completely took care of everything. They went above and beyond for us. I ended up trading in the new LG I hated for a nicer yet cheaper option Samsung. I got two Samsung tablets for free and accessories for my new phone and tablet with a 25% discount. They even waived the restocking fee! George was awesome both times I walked through the door and the regional manager (really wish I could remember his name) was probably the most helpful and knowledgeable person I have EVER encountered with Verizon, in person OR on the phone. I will ONLY EVER use this location for anything involved with my phones or service. Thanks guys for...
Read moreI recently lost my SIM card, and needed to get a replacement. I strolled on down Greenwich Ave to this authorized re-seller location (not an official store) to get a new one. They said that this was possible to do, but asked for $40 for the new SIM card. After politely saying "thank you for not screwing me big time", they changed their offer to $25. My radar for a sour deal was cranked up to 11 at this point, so I decided to do some detective work. I called Verizon directly and spoke with a customer service representative. He told me he would happily send me a new SIM card for free, or else I could drive to Port Chester or Stamford and get a card for free (every official store in the US offers this service at zero cost). He also told me that $40 is a "rip off" and that if an unofficial store charges anything at all, it is more commonly $5 or $10 at most. He had never heard of a store "gouging their customers so badly" (his words). Yes, this is probably not a cheap location to have a store, but to sell goods at between 4 and infinite their fair market price...
