My wife and I started visiting Betteridge about 7 years ago when we lived in town and were starting to shop for engagement rings. While the relationship may have started out of convenience and proximity, it is really the people that have kept us as clients throughout the years. Our saleswoman, Donna, has become a part of our family. So much so, we now look for excuses to make the trip to Greenwich, as we no longer live in town. However, it wasn’t just Donna that made us feel welcome. Other current and former employees such as Lauren, Joel, Jess, Jose, and even Terry himself went out of their way to be welcoming and hospitable whether it was a random visit or an event we were invited to.
Now, obviously things were going to change when Watches of Switzerland purchased Betteridge. The transition of ownership from a single family to a publicly traded corporation necessitates different structure and procedure. As someone who has worked at both small, intimate companies and larger, publicly listed entities, I understand that change is simply unavoidable.
What we weren’t anticipating is how welcoming the Watches of Switzerland family would be and how rewarding it would be as recurring clients. Lorcan, Helena, and Ben all stepped in without missing a beat. I’m some ways, it feels like they have been there all along. I have now visited Watches of Switzerland locations in different countries, been introduced to Watches of Switzerland CEO, Brian Duffy, and Deputy CEO, David Hurley, and have developed friendships with salespeople at different stores.. if you’re in soho, ask for Rashawn!
In an industry that can be difficult to navigate and find trustworthy resources, I’m glad we found Betteridge and Watches of...
Read moreIn late January 2023 I walked into Betteridge in Greenwich Ct. and immediately noticed it was a First Class establishment. I was greeted by Robert Gatta Manager. I introduced myself and explained to Robert that I was discouraged after being turned down by my local Rolex AD. I explained to Robert that I was very interested in the Rolex Yachtmaster 42 in white gold. I told him that I wanted to purchase this watch as a present to myself commemorating completion of 20 years of Law Enforcement in NYC. Robert took a genuine interest in helping me obtain this watch. He took the time to write a heartfelt testimony in my behalf to his Company explaining whom the watch was for and how much it meant to me. This experience with Robert gave me peace and comfort in knowing that he was going to try his best to get this watch for me. To my pleasant surprise about 4 weeks later I received a phone call from Robert stating that he now had my watch. The very next day I took delivery of my dream Rolex. Robert made the entire transaction easy and took the time to explain everything I needed to know about use and care of the watch. Betteridge and Robert Gatta made me a very happy and satisfied customer for life and I made a great friend in Robert. The Bottom line is I was treated with respect & dignity. The staff is very Professional and it was an absolute pleasure doing business with Betteridge Greenwich Ct Sincerely, Stephen...
Read moreThe first part of my experience was wonderful. I was looking to replace a pair of Schepps earrings I had lost, and dealt with JOHANNA on the phone on 2/22/25. She was patient and diligent and researched when my husband purchased them for me, and found you had them in stock. She could not have been more lovely or professional.
However, as I arranged to have my lovely housekeeper pick them up this morning (as she was coming down to Palm Beach from Greenwich tomorrow), the woman she had to deal with was snobby, suspicious, with a horrid tone of voice, rolling her eyes and not even looking the poor woman in the face, ( I was on speaker phone so heard the tone clearly), I was appalled and apologetic to my gal for subjecting her to this treatment from your staff!!! I don’t know her name (blonde with blue eyes working today 2/24/25) but I am sorely disappointed that you have staff so lacking in interpersonal skills and manners! We understood thoroughly that one has to do checks for security purposes, but her tone and manners were atrocious!
I was so pleased with my initial experience with the store I have come to for over 35 years , and so turned off to coming again because of this woman’s behavior.
