Today, 1/8/2022, was the roughest experience I received from a jeweler. They damaged both my high end watches, Lonnginesand Cartier. I CAN'T IMAGINE ANYTHING WORSE! I normally go to New York City and I am a loyal customer to our jeweler's in NYC and for watches, Torneau, on Avenue of the Americas. This year, because of Covid, I searched for a local jeweler that services my luxury watches: Cartier and Longines. I decided to give Manfredi in Greenwich a try. I went to their store in Greenwich around 1:30 p.m. and I was told by the watch service repair man that he would call me when he was done. It was of simple battery change of two of my watches. Harry did give me an estimate of when the service would be completed - and he said, about 3 pm. Both of my watches were vintage watches but very good watches. The Longines specifically was serviced directly by Longines 2 years ago where they replaced many of the parts to make it new again. Anyway, we are from the Westport area and drove all the way to Greenwich to give Manfredi a try and to hopefully have a nearer jeweler we can do business with instead of going into NYC. To our great disappointment, the service all together was very poor compared to the service of Torneau in NYC. First, we never got a call to let us know that the watches were ready and when I called about 3 p.m. to check if the watches were ready, Clara put me on hold for 12 minutes without returning to the call to let us know what was going on. After 12 minutes, I decided to hang up and call back again. I spoke to Clara, who again answered the phone, and mentioned that she seems to have put me on hold and forgot me. Again, she proceeded to connect me to the watch repair /service dept. and again waited for another 5 minutes. Then Alejandro picked up the phone- It was now about 3:20 p.m. - He told us that Harry stepped out and left him my watches. My husband and I were both killing time in Greenwich with our dog since we live in Westport. So as soon as Alejandro told us he had the watches, we drove to Manfredi to pick them up. If you know Greenwich Ave., then you know there is a lot of traffic and finding parking is very difficult. Both of my watches were 20 years old (vintage) - but very well cared for. My mistake was I did not inspect the watches when I picked them up. Parking was difficult and I was in a rush to get to the car. Plus, I never had issues having a watch damaged after a battery change. Anyway, got to Norwalk line and decided to put my Longines on and noticed several deep scratches on the border of the face of the watch. I quickly called Manfredi and spoke to the service manager, David, who told me to come back so they can look at the damage. As I expected, it would be a denial... I told them that Longines via Torneau serviced this Longines 2 years ago and parts were replaced. (And yes, I have the receipt for that service) Also pointed out that Harry and I both looked at the watched before leaving it with them and the deep scratches were not there. I would have noticed these scratches since this is the watch I wear daily. To add insult to injury, when the owner, Roberto Chiappelloni, got involved, and he was very condescending towards me. Maybe because I was Asian - and they didn't realize my American attorney husband was with me. When he spoke to me like he was accusing me of making things up, my husband interjected and expressed that his tone of talking to me was not acceptable. Mr. Chiappelloni, it is just a watch - I was not trying to get anything from you except for an "excellent service" that any of your customers deserve - which you obviously could not extend. I have worked with many high end jewelers both for the purchase and service of our family's jewelry and we have never and I say :"NEVER" been treated so badly. I wish you luck - you lost a potential great and loyal customer. And the service or your store does not even come close to the jewelers we deal with in NYC who treats each of their customer's...
   Read moreIn 2011 as an increasingly obsessed watch enthusiast I was introduced to Rob (now manager of the Greenwich store) through a mutual friend who was a much more experienced watch collector. A couple months later I made my first purchase from Manfredi of a fine Swiss mechanical watch for myself and a stunning pair of earrings and matching ring for my wife. The rest, as they say, is history. I should add that I am unusually blessed with a wife who shares my enthusiasm for fine watches and has an eclectic collection of her own that would be the envy of many experienced collectors and who supports me (within limits and with her pre-approval!) in my own acquisitions. I should also add that we live about 2500 miles away from the actual Manfredi store and have done all of our purchases long distance via phone, e-mail and text, often buying fine jewelry and watches sight unseen. My wife is a business owner and CEO and needs to look the part and thus discreet but very high quality jewelry is an integral part of her appearance/personna. But we like to dress up for vacations and a few special occasions and she has extremely good taste in more "visible" pieces as well. At one point Rob worked patiently and tirelessly for literally months helping her design a one of a kind set of green tourmaline earrings and ring. She is very picky and a bit of a perfectionist so this was no easy matter as the pieces made a few trips back and forth for minor changes! We have been together for going on 15 years but finally officially got married about 2 1/2 years ago and once again Rob went well above the norm in helping us source (from an outside source no less) an absolutely stunning diamond for our custom engagement ring! Of course our wedding rings followed shortly thereafter. Over the years we have purchased watches and jewelry from Manfredi not only for ourselves but for three children's graduation presents, relatives, birthdays, anniversaries (ours and others), business associates and countless other occasions. Roberto (owner) and Rob (Greenwich manager) have, from the very early days, treated us as valued and appreciated clients, no matter how large or small the purchase, and eventually we have even come to feel as part of the Manfredi family. I would be remiss if I didn't mention Hillary, Tom?, Darla Jo in New Caanan and many of the other staff at Manfredi who have always been professional, courteous, patient!, and helpful at all times. It has taken me quite a while to write this review as I had been trying to find a way to more succinctly convey my experiences with Roberto Chiappelloni, Rob Weintraub and the family that is Manfredi Jewels but this was about as short as I was able.    Read moreI discovered Manfredi Jewels a year ago when looking to purchase an Omega Sailing Bracelet. None of my local jewelers had my size available. After doing some research, it became obvious that I needed to have a firsthand experience with Manfredi.
Prior to making my first purchase I emailed your customer service department to clarify a couple of things and ask some questions about the bracelet and high-end watches. I received a prompt response from Rob , who was very thorough and answered all of my questions. I was given nothing but exceptional service since our first interaction. He answered any and all of my questions and the level of service was outstanding.
While the bracelet was out of stock everywhere for quite some time, Rob went above and beyond to attempt to secure the style and size that I was looking for and was successful. However, during that time my local Omega store restocked the item and I was able to purchase it directly from them. I just recently purchased another Omega bracelet directly from Manfredi Jewels and sent a note to Rob making him aware. Again I received a prompt, friendly response. To my surprise, the bracelet was delivered to my house the next day, free of charge.
While the quality of your products are top-notch, your customer service is first rate and outstanding. Of course you need good, quality products but in my opinion, what separates companies and makes them stand out is the exceptional and professional customer service that is provided along with the products that are being offered. It is clear to me that Manfredi Jewels has made these priorities.
Now that I have experienced your wonderful customer service and have actually seen the quality of products first-hand, I will be a repeat customer and refer as many friends as possible. I know they will be as thrilled as me.
