Smallcakes Cupcakery & Creamery — Attraction in Greenwood

I was really excited to utilize a local business when ordering my daughter's smash cake for her 1st birthday. I had seen all the really cool custom cakes on Facebook and knew that this was the shop I wanted to use. I had a simple design in mind and visited the shop to discuss pricing and my vision. I was extremely disappointed when I spoke with the employee who relayed my idea to someone working in the back and was told there was no way they could make my cake for me. I was told that they couldn't do that design. All I wanted was a white frosted cake decorated with colorful polka dots. The employee then proceeded to try and sell me on a cake with a rosette design. All the unicorn cakes, sport designs and character designs on their Facebook page and they "couldn't" do a simple polka dot design. 😒

I gave 2 stars instead of just one because the employee was nice throughout the conversation. The shop was cute and clean. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever go back.

We had Smallcakes Cupcakery do our cupcakes for our wedding day! They helped us come up with ideas to fit our superhero-themed cupcake vision, and their prices were fantastic for the number we needed.

We booked them before Covid-19, and they were phenomenal when quarantine hit. They helped when we had to postpone, being very open and flexible with changing our date and everything that followed. I mostly communicated with Megan, the owner, and she was always happy and willing to answer all my questions along the wedding planning journey. On the wedding day, the cupcakes were ready and beautiful when we walked in. Not to mention, THEY TASTED DELICIOUS!!!

Additionally, I bought separate cupcakes for my mom's birthday and the mother of the groom's birthday from Smallcakes Greenwood. Everyone in the store was so friendly and helpful as I picked the right cake. Plus I bought an extra box for the celebration. Nothing but positive comments!

The first time we used Small Cakes by the time we got the cake home the whole back half of the icing had fallen off, they offered to fix it but we couldn’t make it down there in time for the party so they gave us 20% off. We decided to use them again, the biggest mistake we have ever made. We picked up a cake that anyone could have made and paid a decent amount for it, when we complained I was told to message the designer on Facebook, no solution was offered upon pick up of the cake. The designer, or the owner come to find out, messages me and says we can come back and she will redo the cake. I am not sure why I didn’t receive a better quality cake to start from. It is sloppy and basic, and the designer stood by and justified her work. We will NEVER be returning or recommending small cakes. Two birthdays ruined, keep up...
