Academy Sports + Outdoors — Attraction in Gulfport

This is for the gulfport store I hope! I just wanna give a huge shout out to 2 of their employees only know first names so hope this gets to them! First I had difficult finding a specific due to it being sold out on line and in store at most academies! I called the deibervile store and they said it showed 1 (84" American legend 3 in1) in stock at gulfport store! That being said Maddy answered the phone she was so courteous and kind and even went way beyond today's standards of customer service and put me on hold and went outside a d checked connex boxes and found it! She made sure everything went perfect had a manager notified I was on my way to get the last one! Once arriving she was on lunch but a young man named zack was up front immediately responded and made the transaction flawless from rechecking the sku numbers to make sure it was what I wanting to having the 300 lb package waiting with 2 other guys waiting as soon as I pulled around to load it! Honestly alike going here. Prices are high though. The checkout system that they have now in place really is disappointing. So if you go in to buy something it's on your mind about how long you're going to have to wait. Cuz you got to be huddled together like cattle through a chut to the front of the line waiting to be called. And sometimes when it's busy it could be frustrating. The one or two things that you think you might need from there, and then the frustrating system that they have to check out to get to a register is really on your mind.... I was there over the weekend and I decided I don't need what I wanted THAT bad. So I left. Hopefully they do something to change the way they check people out. It's really ridiculous. It's the only bad thing that I ever have to say about Academy is that they run out of certain things too quickly And most importantly,to my family at least, is that they do not support veterans by honoring a veteran's discount. I believe those that serve our country can at least be honored with a small discount with businesses as large as Academy sports and outdoors. As a matter of fact I believe every business should honor those who serve with this discount, after all we wouldn't be enjoying the freedoms that we do such a shopping without them.Especially considering how many veterans shop there.
