My aunt planned a boat ride from Mariners Cove Marina in Gulf Port Florida last Sunday. When she called on Sunday to have the boat put in the water she was told the boat was “totaled”. Apparently Hurricane Helene destroyed my Aunt’s boat and 4 other boats that could be see. This Marina states “high, dry and secure” on its website. These boats were left on the ground unsecured. When questioned why the boat wasn’t high, dry or secure she was told they didn’t know there would be a storm surge. Everyone knew there was storm surge expected. The Marina didn’t bother to tell her the boat was totaled. 6 weeks after Helene she found out when calling to ask the boat be put in the water. The people there are super nice, very professional and efficient and we really enjoyed seeing them every time we went. These guys were so efficient that on a couple occasions, they saw us driving down the driveway and by the time we had parked and gotten out of the truck, they already had the boat in the water without us asking.
