When it comes to dairy, consumers in the valley want fresh local milk, cheese, ice cream, and other products from people they know (and love), and Mill Valley Milk Company has it all!!! From their on-site raw milk (in returnable glass jars or in plastic recyclable jugs) of various sizes, to their own unique ice cream flavors, to their artisan cheeses, skyr, and multitude of authentic local products, Mill Valley Milk Company has become a weekly stop for me throughout the pandemic. While many local businesses have seen a significant decrease in products, Mill Valley Milk Co. has evolved, grown, changed, and adapted. I continue to be amazed at just how much goodness fits inside the small area that used to carry just ice cream and milk. It is both a treat and a comfort to witness the level of care and detail put in to making this place stand out. Though it is tucked back from bustling route 9 in Hadley, a fair amount of traffic streams through the four-corner intersection where Mill Valley Milk Company resides. All the staff are helpful, talkative and kind, and are very sweet to children. Their cows are not only well fed, but also cared for and loved, and it shows. This is an excellent place to bring the whole family. The quality of dairy products is unbeatable. I regard this store as the best of it's kind in the valley. 5 stars. A+++!!! Ā Ā Ā Read moreSweet staff and great food for same or less as others in area. The seasonal corn has real flavor; I eat it with nothing on it because I love the flavor and texture just the way it is. The other products fill in the corners of a standard grocery shop for lovers of good fresh food with pronouncable ingredients. The ice cream is unbefreakinglievable. With no transit or temperature issues, the silky creamy texture is perfect. If your flavor isn't in stock, you can contact the number on the container and ask for them to make pints for the store, or one of those huge containers for a party or what-have-you. They have raw milk from the herd you see hanging out around the place, pretty brown cows looking very content and gently inquisitive. The biggest thing for me is that this is the only milk I've found (raw or not) in wide travels (both coasts, most breeds) that doesn't bother my stomach, my sinuses, or my skin. It tastes great, neither heavy nor light, and goes great in cereal, tea, whatever. I find that remarkable. I'm hugely pleased that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve tried a variety of high quality farm fresh ice creams and this isnāt one of them. It needs egg yolks in the recipe. Iāve never seen a great quality ice cream that doesnāt. I read the Maple Valley website and it said they donāt believe in using egg because it leaves a greasy residue. Iāve never tasted a greasy residue in other ice creams. I didnāt even look at the ingredients before I tried Maple Valley the first time but I knew something was off and thought maybe it melted and refroze at some point before I bought it. I tried it a second time and realized that this is just how it tastes. A spoon going into ice cream shouldnāt sound like itās digging through Italian ice. After tasting what seemed like more of a frosty sorbet texture once again and finding small pieces of ice at the bottom, I looked at the ingredients and didnāt see egg yolks. Maybe consult with Arethusa Farms or Collins Creamery. Their ice cream is...
