My review seems to have been deleted, so I am reposting it.: It is such a shame that such great quality jewelry is ruined because of such terrible customer service. I am a black woman and do not like assuming that poor service is due to profiling or racism, however this establishment is undeniably displaying this. I have entered this store many times with my friends, of whom are white, and they have received excellent and engaging customer service. But when I shop in the store alone, I am treated poorly and often ignored. This occurs with every employee I have interacted with. I have encountered some unfavorable customer service experiences in my lifetime, but this establishment truly surpasses those. Today's instance is what pushed me to write this review. I came in to receive my free jewelry cleaning for two James Avery rings. I spoke to a woman who replied, in a very harsh and offensive tone, that she "couldn't clean them" and that I "had to wait." I ended up just buying the cleaning kit to further avoid such a saddening experience. As an isolated incident, I would not be bothered. However, the fact that every time I interact with an employee here, I receive such a pessimistic attitude makes it hard for me to believe that biases do not reside in them. If not for the fact that my peers, who also shop here, receive much kinder service, I wouldn't feel so inclined to write a review discussing racial profiling. I think the employees at this establishment could benefit from training that includes reduction of unconscious bias towards customers. It is a common teaching included in new hire training procedures for many companies. I would appreciate the same regard for James Avery as...
Read moreI've visited this store numerous times in the past 8 years, give or take. Tonight, is the second time I felt disregarded. When I entered the store, there was only one worker in the front assisting another customer. I was not greeted or acknowledged. After roughly 10-15 minutes another customer entered. I expressed I was also waiting for assistance because she thought I worked there. Another 8-10 minutes passed and a second worker came to the front. Neither the worker who was currently there nor the customer who came after me demonstrated thoughtfulness to the fact that I arrived first. Additionally, the second worker did not think to ask. Normally, I would speak up but I watched to witness the outcome of this situation. Once helped, I expressed my disappointment and offense, as well as the surprise of what occurred. The staff, Kay freely offered her apology and communicated why she helped the other young lady, unknowingly aware I had been next in line. It was genuine! My visit from this point was personal, pleasant, and I accomplished my heart's content concerning my purchase. A heartfelt shoutout to Kay for redeeming how customer service should be. It is my hope the other worker will learn and model your ethic because serving the customer is of utmost importance. Disclaimer: I understand other factors could have played a part but ultimately, when someone is representing a company, the customer's sense of welcome should be top priority. Fortunately, I still call myself a customer, both online and...
Read moreIt could be the run up to Mother's day, but my last experience at James Avery in Killeen was substandard. What is most noticable is that the manager is kinda grouchy. Back to back visits and the manager was pretty short with anyone and everyone from my family. This is in striking contrast to how we have previously viewed James Avery. I was at the James Avery in Georgetown less than 24 hours before this visit, and it is a night and day difference. From Killeen store, I received a new item in a small pouch. I was surprised that this did not come in a box, but did not dwell on it. The item I did receive was delivered subpar. Not all of the silver charms are bright and shiny. We were given the item out of the display case, we're told the item could be shined and cleaned to match the others and it does not. Will probably need to visit the James Avery in Georgetown to get customer service. At the Georgetown location the manager was very polite and attempted to accommodate me even as the store was closing. I decided to visit the Killeen store the next day, rather than hold up the Georgetown location from closing... I was made to feel that I...
