I recently visited this store to exchange a small lamp for another item but had misplaced my receipt. I politely asked an employee to check with someone in management if it would be possible to make the exchange, and they assured me it would be fine. After picking out my replacement item, I went to the registers, only to have a completely different experience with the manager.
When the employee called her over for assistance, the manager rudely informed me that an exchange couldnât be processed without a receipt. Confused, I explained that an assistant manager had already approved it. Instead of handling the situation calmly, she loudly called across the store, telling the assistant manager to handle the transaction himself if he was the one who âmade the promise.â
It was embarrassing and uncomfortable, especially when all the other staff were so polite and helpful. I wish Iâd gotten the managerâs name, but I didnât feel comfortable asking. Her lack of professionalism and the way she handled the situation made me question how someone with such poor customer service skills ended up in a position of authority, especially when other employees seemed far better suited...

We were really confused on why she told us this and we asked her why do we have to leave and she goes and tells us that on Saturday when me, my boyfriend, his brother and his brothers girlfriend went, she had caught me stealing phone cases and that I had a bookbag but thatâs not true at all because not only that I didnât steal anything, I had no bookbag with just my phone with me and she told us she has proof that I was stealing on Saturday but I know for the fact that she does not have any type of proof of me stealing, the only proof she has of me, is walking around looking at stuff. I really hope someone takes action to this lady for having false information and accusing a customer for something that...

So, when this pushy employee doing nothing in the register pushed himself upon me to try to force scan my merchandise I felt uncomfortable. He wasn't wearing a mask, he was not following social distancing. I wearing a mask, clearly not wearing anything reflecting that I can shove merchandise concealed on my person or purse. Needed to ask first before anything. I told him, if it was mandatory then it should not be a self-check out service like Target and if I needed of him, I would call upon him. That's when he got the hint to back off. Will not be returning to Hialeah's 5below if the employees...
