I wanted to to update my OakLawn home to refresh the kitchen, replace carpet and outdoor tile. I went online and found several remodeling companies. I contacted three or four contractors to Interview. I was looking for a local firm that works predominantly in the Oak Lawn, SoHip, and Highland Park neighborhoods.

Renowned Renovation was one of the first remodeling companies to contact me. When I met with them they were professional, arrived on time, and responded to follow up questions quickly. They listened to what I wanted, made a few very helpful suggestions, did not try to up-sell me, and provided a rough cost for what we discussed.

What really sold me on going with Renowned Renovation was the fact that they would provide access to an app called BuilderTREND. All of the project information, updates, and the ability to make payments were in one place. We travel, so knowing I could leave during the renovation and would get daily updates when work was taking place, really brought me peace of mind. Once I informed Renowned I was moving forward with them, I was provided a detailed estimate that I accepted through BuilderTREND. Renowned got started immediately and scheduled critical selections like countertops, backsplash, paint color, tile, and carpet. Once selections were made we had a schedule posted. Totally booked a trip to get out of there during the dusty part and was able to monitor every aspect of project remotely. I could see on the calendar when they were going to have crews working on my house and when they showed up, they logged in and posted photos of the work they did that day. The app documented everything. Easy.

Their work was was great. We love our updated kitchen. The cabinetry looks brand new. The Cambria countertops that they recommended is beautiful, durable, easy to maintain, and has a lifetime warranty.

Bottom line is that we would rehire Renowned Renovation and recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

I hired Renowned Renovations to renovate my townhome in West Village – this is the first home I have ever owned as well as my first renovation project. When I purchased the home, I knew that I loved the layout but hated the finishings, so as soon as I closed, I immediately started looking for a contractor.

Right away, I was impressed by Grant’s professionalism. After a few minutes of standard pleasantries, he got right down to business. We spent about a half hour walking through each room in my home, talking through what I wanted to do. Based on the walkthrough, Grant quickly turned around a detailed bid, and we started the project shortly thereafter using the bid as our project plan.

In addition to the initial walk-through, I worked with Melissa on a number of aesthetic selections. One area where Melissa played a crucial role was the layout for the master bathroom. I knew the existing layout utilized the space very poorly, but I had no idea how exactly to rearrange everything. Melissa came back with 3 options (one of which we moved forward with), and I know I would never have ended up with the design we landed on without her help.

Due to my short timeframe, we started the project without drawings or precise plans (other than what was prepared for the initial bid). Tyler was incredibly adept at reacting quickly during the project, especially when last minute changes were needed. Overall, we finished within the agreed upon timeframe, and only exceeded the original budget for items I added during the project. I came to Renowned Renovation when I found out our master bathroom was leaking water into our walls. Renowned came in relatively quickly, looked at the space we had to work with, listened to what we wanted and set forth to put together a quote.

Their quote came in very reasonable compared to the competitors out there and they were also very flexible on pricing and payment options. Once I have them my greenlight they stayed in constant communication with me and started as soon as they could get into my house. Tyler was my initial point of contact and one of the co-owners. Darryl was our project manager. Both parties did their best to meet all of our needs and concerns when issues came up. I never came upon any hesitation whatsoever and the transparency was top notch; I never felt like I didn't know what was going on.

The overall project took about 1.5 months to complete and there were a few issues they ran into along the way, but as I mentioned, they handled them very promptly and worked with me in every way possible to ensure I was happy. Darryl even came in and cleaned the place up one last time before leaving the project site himself.

It really speaks volumes when a company is transparent, communicative and highly attentive to their customers. I never felt uneasy about any of the work done and I always felt like I could trust them (not to mention these guys were in my house for the project duration without me there and I never experienced trust issues).
