5/5 āļø STāļøRS āļø I AM A FOREVER A LOYAL CUSTOMER HERE. I will always make a stop here when visiting Dallas. If I was a local, this would be my Pho/Shrimp Spring Roll/ Fried Eggroll fix. ATMOSPHERE: It’s a smaller place but the owner stated that they would be expanding this JULY 2025. They are not moving but instead they are expanding with a bigger food hall. Small or not, the place is so clean and well decorated. CUSTOMER SERVICE: we were graced to be served by the owner Alan Mai- Superb! He is excellent at his craft, hardworking, full of passion, and so kind. He greeted us, seated us, and in his expertise recommended us dishes on the menu and how to eat it the ā€œVietnameseā€ way. So cool! FOOD: my sister is a broth snob, and she liked the broth- it says a lot. If you are a pho lover, this is the place to go. It’s authentic and delicious. get the fried eggrolls it’s so generous. I’ve been to many restaurants where they skim the meat or they skim the fillings, but not this one, it’s worth every penny it’s delicious and hearty. And the spring rolls freaking delicious and packed with flavor in every bite. *** if you are a spicy pepper lover, like me, ask for the yummy fresh sauce that his sister freshly makes- in the photos ***

I recently moved to the area and have been exploring the different restaurants and stumbled upon this one simply because I was in the parking lot. SO GLAD I WALKED INSIDE!!! Upon entry the man who works the front was unbelievably nice and patient. He showed me the binder, which in itself was an immense amount of effort that does not go unnoticed. The entire menu is a visual aid with a picture for each dish, appetizer or entre, and a description. I got the Bun Bo Xao with a pork spring roll because I'm allergic to shrimp. It came with a sauce for the spring roll and a sauce for the dish. I have always been taught to try the dish before you lather on a sauce. That dish was out of this world delicious. The sauce just amplified it a bit but I personally didn't need any sauce. The portion size was very large in my opinion which befits the price. I can eat and although I wanted to keep eating, because it was so good, I ended up having leftovers because I was so full. My daughter got food from a place nearby and said she made a mistake and wanted Papaya Kitchen next time lol All in all, we will continue to eat from Papaya Kitchen!

I ordered food using their online platform and my card was charged and I received the email and text message confirmations and when I went to go pick up my order, the man said the system was down and he didn’t receive it on their end: I understand the system being down but what was upsetting was he refused to honor my order after i showed him my card being charged by their company and the email/text confirmation. He made me seem like some sort of thief who would lie to get a free meal I showed him all the proof he needed and it’s not my fault as a customer that your system is down, especially if this is still allowed to place my order the least you could’ve done was honored my order, especially considering my card was already charged. I believe he was being discriminatory, to make it look like I wanted a free meal when I have been here multiple time. I will not be back.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A Culinary Gem with Unparalleled Service

If you're looking for a dining experience that combines exceptional Vietnamese cuisine with outstanding service, look no further than Papaya Kitchen. When you step inside, you will be greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for a memorable meal.

Owner Alan and his team go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels like family. The attention to detail and genuine hospitality create a welcoming and sophisticated ambiance. The food at Papaya Kitchen is nothing short of spectacular. Each dish bursts with authentic flavors and fresh ingredients that transport you straight to the heart of Vietnam. The spring rolls are light and packed with flavor, making them the perfect start to any meal. The green papaya salad is refreshing and vibrant, offering a perfect balance of tangy and savory flavors. Another must-try is the bun thit nuong, featuring charcoal-broiled pork lemongrass served with vermicelli, lettuce, cucumbers, and bean sprouts. The combination of tender pork, fresh vegetables, and aromatic lemongrass is delightful.

One of the highlights of dining at Papaya Kitchen is the exceptional service. Alan and his staff are incredibly attentive, ensuring every need is met with a smile. They are knowledgeable about the menu and are always happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences. The level of care and attention to detail truly sets this restaurant apart.

I will start off by saying that the owner was very nice and offered us a drink on the house our first time there. The lady at the cash register was nice too. The food is great and portions are good. Here is why I give my experience 2 stars: I ordered #18, which was a plate with meat and rice and the banh xeo and I said it was for here/eat inside the restaurant. the banh xeo was brought out on a plate and my meat and rice was packaged to go- the cash register lady said she packed my meat and rice to go because she assumed I would not finish both my dishes which I thought was sort of strange. I asked for both things to be for here, not to go. When I opened my to go box of meat and rice, I did not see rice. I saw noodles. I told the cash register lady that I wanted rice. She then checked with the back and said they ran out of rice and it would be a wait for me. I came during my lunch break from work so I could not wait. Two questions came to mind:

  1. did she already know they ran out of rice and thought I was not going to check my order inside the restaurant and packed it to go even though I said it was for here? Or..
  2. There was a customer after me that ordered 4 boxes of rice to go. And maybe while they were cooking the meat for my dish, they decided to pack all of the rice for his order to go- why would they make his order of rice first without making sure my order was good first? I placed my order before him. This was my first time here and incredibly disappointed. The lady did give me 15% off coupon my next order but I dont think I will be...
