The Bird Feeder — Restaurant in Holland

Great food does not always wait behind a host stand. Sometimes it comes from a food truck parked in an alley, lit by neon and the laughter spilling out of a bar. In Holland, that truck is The Bird Feeder, tucked behind Parrot’s Lounge, and it has become the city’s late-night ritual.

The rhythm of the night sets it up. Inside Parrot’s, Thursdays are Comedy Night. The comics run their sets, the crowd drinks, the room fills with laughter until the last punchline drops. Then the doors open, the sidewalk fills, and everyone funnels toward the back lot where The Bird Feeder is already working. The grill is hot, the line is forming, and the smell of smashed beef hangs in the air.

The menu is short, but it hits hard. Smash burgers are the main draw. Thin patties pressed flat on the griddle until the edges crisp, stacked with cheese that melts into every ridge. They come wrapped and steaming, simple but perfect, the kind of burger that belongs in your hand after midnight. Tater tots ride shotgun, crunchy on the outside, soft inside, salty enough to keep you going until the basket is empty.

There are wings too, sauced heavy, messy in the best way. Sweet, spicy, tangy, and built for paper napkins, they taste better under parking lot lights than they ever could at a white-tablecloth spot. I wish I could leave 6 stars!!!!! This is BY FAR!! THE BEST BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!! Highly recommend. For comparison, my previous favorite burger was in Key West! This burger is worth an hour or two drive out of the way to go and eat! It will change your life. My recommendation is the Olive Burger! LOCATED BEHIND PARROT BAR!! First time trying this place and will absolutely be back. The tots are sooo crispy and delicious, I got the double Bird Mac burger and it was very flavorful and filling.
