This was a very fun place to have our event. The axe coaches were great and really gave individual assistance to anyone interested in learning how to better throw an axe. They created a fun atmosphere. The bar setup was enough and the staff during the event were great. The only issue we had is the staff on the main floor. We walked into the building and there was an unmanned reception desk. There were no signs or directions on where our group were located. We walked around with our hands full of items for our party and the staff just watched us. No one offered any direction. I actually had to call upstairs to my friend who was there for direction. After getting direction from him, we walked past 4 to 5 staff members who kept pointing us to the elevator. We finally get there and the staff member asks if we signed in. Unknowingly we were sent back to the front where the 4 to 5 staff members were watching us walk with full hands. We finally got signed in and then headed upstairs. Other than this issue it was a great experience. I hope they take this as constructive criticism and work harder on making the initial customer experience easier and more inviting.

Was initially glad to have found this place because other ax throwing places near me had no open lanes to reserve. Upon arrival we were greeted by the bar tender who checked us in and opened a tab for us with my card. Instructor was good but said he would be back with games for us to play and keep score on but he never returned so we just kind of made something up. We left and proceeded one block down for dinner, when I received a call stating that I had left my card with the bartender. When I told her I would be down after dinner to retrieve it, I was informed that a 20 percent gratuity would be added to my bill because I left my card. I was shocked and had never heard of this practice. She said "the rule is on our website and everything " I will not be returning and I recommend the other more popular one in Millvale.

This was our second weekend in a row visiting Ace Axe Throwing! We had such a great time at our first visit (with excellent coach Reagan, who kept us safe and explained everything to us for our first visit)) that we decided to bring a different group of friends for another visit. This time, we were upstairs (highly recommend for groups larger than 5 ish) and Austin was our coach for the hour. He was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and professional. He had a great sense of humor (thank goodness, because we are a group of goofballs, poking fun at each other and using just a smidge of colorful language.) We live closer to another axe throwing venue, but will keep returning to Ace Axe Throwing -- you can't put a price on great customer service! Thanks, Ace Axe Crew!.

Went with a group of 4 on a Friday night and had a great time. 2 out of the 4 of us hadn't done axe throwing before but our instructor Jeff quickly showed them the ropes. He was pretty hands off with us after but was nearby the whole time and eager to help us and answer questions when we asked, and we really appreciated him not being overbearing and letting us feel things out for ourselves after being shown the basics. The instructors seem to have a good sense of when to stick around their groups and when to back off a bit and let everyone have fun. These guys take safety seriously and will intervene if you're being careless and not following basic safety standards (aka common sense) but we never felt like we were walking on eggshells when the instructors were watching us like I've experienced at another popular axe throwing business. The instructors figure out pretty quickly who they have to keep a keen eye on and who they can leave unattended for a bit. All in all a great experience with no complaints. I'd definitely recommend our instructor Jeff but from what I've read in other reviews you can't go wrong with any...

We had the night off with no kids and had plans with some friends for dinner. So we all decided to give axe throwing a try. My buddies wife had done it with some friends and she said it was a blast. Well needless to say it was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC no doubt in my mind we will be going back. First off they were busy all the lanes but 2 had people in them. So don't be surprised if you have to let one of the staff know you just walked in let's face it AXES BEING THROWN requires attention from the staff! So if your butt doesn't get kissed when you walk in it may not be for you if your expecting that. The staff was fantastic they continously watch your body movement to help you land the axe. Give it a try and don't get discouraged I didn't land the axe once when we were doing free throws to warm up. I even tried the heavier axe I found it to be easier for me the weight felt better in my hand. But the best part was the last match we tied up the scores so it was sudden death I suggested we use the full length axe first time for both of us my buddy missed and we'll I didn't. Give it a try you won't be...
