Five Star Jewelers — Attraction in Homestead

Extremely disappointed with my experience at Five Star Jewelry in Homestead.

Yesterday, I stopped by this store to have my brand-new Bulova watch resized. I don’t live in the area, but it was on my way — and I deeply regret going. The resizing was done by the manager, who was trying to assist three customers at once, clearly unfocused and rushing everything.

While working on my watch, she kept leaving it unattended to deal with another customer who wanted to buy a chain. She was also on her phone multiple times, more focused on that potential sale than on taking proper care of my watch. In the end, she didn’t close the sale, and that customer also walked away unhappy.

She handled my watch with no care whatsoever, hammering it roughly while distracted. I waited over 45 minutes for a basic adjustment that should have taken no more than 10–15 minutes in capable hands.

When she finally said it was ready, I noticed the bracelet was still loose. She had to fix it again — more hammering — and by the time I left, my watch had visible scratches on multiple links. And again: this was a brand-new watch I hadn't even worn yet.

Honestly, I have no idea how this woman is a manager. She was completely unprofessional — not in the way she worked, not in the way she spoke, and definitely not in how she treated customers.

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had at any jewelry store. No attention to detail, no professionalism, and no respect for the customer or their property.
