The store is beautiful and upscale. It is located in an upscale area with other shops and eateries nearby. The employees are friendly, helpful and not fake. However, the poke was gross. I would have given one star but the employees have always been nice and helpful. The cost for a poke bowl is $14.99 which is reasonable for fresh poke. However this poke was disgusting, it was not fresh tasting, and had lots of connective tissue. I tried to make it work, because I don't like to be wasteful food, but found that I had to spit out the poke; after 2-3 bites I gave up. I looked around at the pokey with my chopsticks and realized that 70% of the pokey pieces had substantial connective tissue. I stopped by for a quick lunch on my break. This will be the last time I buy a poke bowl from this place. Other Foodland stores have the best poke but not here. I should have known better, there was no line during the lunch hour. that should be a big hint that the poke here is no good. I don't think they move their product fast enough and the person who prepares the pokey needs more...
Read moreIf you exit the Waialae Offramp heading East take a left at the 2nd traffic light and turn right into the parking lot and you will find the Market right in the center. Finding a stall is like going through a maze. Now if you have shopped at a FOODLAND you need to keep an open mind with this concept! Someone will greet you upon entering as you pass by a beautiful array of plants & flora. At first the store looked big until you go further in and there's a deli like area with a small selection of produce in the corner. Couple aisles, freezers and kitty corner is their R Field Wine Collection area, couple registers and that's all folks. A gourmet type concept is the best I can describe with a more finer selection of products to choose from. They picked a perfect location if that's was their marketing idea. If your like me, not my choice to shop if making dinner for...
Read moreGood variety of gluten free and keto options you might only find online. Nice to try it here, first. Pricey though. The big difference between this store and stores like Whole Foods is that this store is much more speciality based. They have some unique gluten free and keto options (I'm sure these products will change as products evolve) that typically cannot be found at other stores. Some decent selection of local products as well. What is nice is the majority of these products are all located together. So if you are shopping for bread you will see typical bread choices as well as keto bread and gluten free bread all in the same place so you can make a comparison. R. Fields has a mini store in the corner with a variety of brands both expensive and decently priced. Also a small humidor with a good selection of cigars. Right next to Zippys and across from...
