The Coronation Pavilion was built for the coronation of King Kalākaua and Queen Kapiolani on February 12, 1883. The pavilion was later moved from its original site near the King Street steps. Today, The Royal Hawaiian Band can be seen playing near the Coronation Pavilion and has also been used for the inauguration of the Governors of the State of Hawaiʻi.

Got to the Pavilion, but we weren't allowed to actually go inside of it? That kind of sucks but it is what it is. Still enjoyed the time spent.

An impressive little pavilion in the grounds of the palace. It’s a really nice area to walk around and to see a lot of the local bird life.

Originally located in front of the palace and connected to the first floor veranda by a bridge, today is on the grounds for all to admire its construction. It is now used for inaugurations of government of the State of Hawaii.
