Gorgeous, underrated spot for taking in the unobstructed ocean views, view of Diamond Head, fresh air, and watching surfers and boats coming and going. There’s a lot of space so even when it’s busy, it’s not crowded. You’ll catch musicians, dancers, etc. practicing or playing here. It’s a great place to hang out. It’s also good entertainment. Just as a safety thing, if you’re a mama with kids or female…always make sure there are other people around and that you’re not just out here walking solo. You never know these days. Also a note for photographers with all the valuable equipment—same thing. Be careful. I wouldn’t want to be out here alone with any of my camera gear, unfortunately. There’s also a staircase leading down to the ocean for people to go for a swim or snorkeling. It’s located west of the eastern most parking lot. Looked like good fun.

Live life on the "edge!" Push the EXTREME limits of your activities. This is a "jumping-off" point for surfers, scuba divers and yes, even body surfers. Many of these shots were taken at Point Panic, known for the need for deftfully, pulling out of a wave, before crashing with the wave into a volcano lava rock-solid seawall. Here scuba divers lower themselves into a quiet sea, with 1 1/2 hour air tanks, serious underwater cameras to photograph the ocean floor corals, small colorful fish, along with sting rays and sharks such as Hammerheads and Tiger Sharks. Blend into their company and "swim alongside them," they say. And, "You won't be bothered." All this, based upon 20 years of serious diving experience. They dove into the calm sea as the sun came up over Diamond Head in the distance.

People need to read the posted signs. Especially when going into the lineup at Point Panic. Body surfers only! Everyone else must stay to the right of the sign using any other type of vessel. Can be sharky so be mindful. All types of activities take place here from fishing off the wall, scuba diving, spear & free diving, body surfing, body boarding, surfing and even foiling further down at flies. Parking gets really crazy when the surf is good and on weekends. There is a much bigger lot down by the Children's Discovery Center for even more activities like walking the dog, yoga, tai chi and zumba. Also there is a homeless community so please be mindful and respectful of all park goers.
