Moana Sailing Company — Local services in Honolulu

I booked my daughters and I on Moana’s Swim’n’Sail Cocktail Cruise on Saturday, 13 September 2025 @ 2:00pm - 4:00pm for a VIP experience which meant I paid US$30 extra per person which should of included early VIP boarding at 1:30pm, welcome complimentary drink with souvenir cup etc yet we did not receive any of these extra. It was a special occasion for us celebrating my daughters 15th birthday onboard so this really disappointed my daughter.

I raised this with staff on the day and they assured me they had let the company know to contact me to process a refund. I have subsequently left voice messages, I have emailed the company a number of times to follow-up a refund for this additional experience and also sent a number of enquiries through the company website to follow up yet no response or refund received to date. I am only asking for a refund for the additional money I paid for VIP experience that we didn’t receive(US$30 per person), not a full refund.

I still hope the company does the right thing, contacts me to process the refund but thought I would put my experience out there for others so they don’t get disappointed like we did.

Booked this tour on the Chase Portal website & had no problems! We booked the 5pm sunset tour and made sure to get there a little early so we had time to find and walk to the correct pier. The staff collected our shoes before boarding and locked them up to keep them safe. the boat is big enough to allow all passengers to walk around comfortably, and had lots of seating available too! the bathroom on deck was comfortable and clean. there was also netting near the front of the ship that you can sit on. the drinks were fine- the first drink was complimentary and the rest were $8. the crew was quick with taking drink orders, helped take pictures of their guests, played great music, and made the experience nice and fun. we even came across some dolphins on our tour!! the boat drives towards Diamond Head which allows you to get a gorgeous view of Waikiki. This was a wonderful experience- i’d be happy to book again in the future.

note: if you’re sitting at the front of the boat, be ready to get soaked by the ocean...

Aloha! From start to finish, the team and tours were top-notch!! We booked the snorkel trip for the morning and came back for the sunset sail the same day. Captain Bella and her crew Bridgette, Sophia, and Kyle made the experience absolutely incredible. My wife has anxiety with snorkeling, and Sophia went out of her way to make sure my wife had as enjoyable of a time as possible and no issues getting from and to the catamaran. Sophia was very knowledgeable about where to look for turtles and other sea life, and especially made sure we were safe when a different tour vessel came in closer than they should have to where we were snorkeling. Then later on, they took us out to even get a glimpse of a whale which was a complete surprise and bonus on top of the amazing sunset views. Ultimately, they were all extremely professional, offered to take pictures, and made sure everything was taken care of as needed! We will definitely book with Moana the next time we are...
