These are world class fish tacos!
We stumbled upon it after leaving the Makani boat tour and I got really excited to see a food truck court next door. I come from Washington State and order fish tacos anywhere that serve them, anytime when I travel. This meal was hands down, one of the most memorial food experiences I have had on Oahu and Kauai. I will even be so bold to declare that these tacos are better than all I have tried from all of the west coast, including Louisiana, Georgia, Texas and parts of Mexico. These were so good they have outranked my previous favorite fish tacos (Marlin) from Tacón de Marlin in Puerto Vallarta.
Now.. I saw the sign for Fish Tacos and I instantly ordered four before I remembered to ask what kind of fish was being served. When Brad told me he was serving Marlin, I had order two more because I knew these were going to be a hit with my friends and I didn’t want to share.
Once they were served, I didn’t even had a chance to take a picture because once I put them on the table, they were gone in under a minute. Everyone was so impressed, we had to order two more! There were three of us and we ate three each.
Normally I prefer my tacos garnished with a whole grilled jalapeño or some kind of salsa on the side. At first I was surprised the tacos didn’t come with some kind of hot sauce but please trust that these tacos didn’t need anything.
What made these the best tacos of my live (so far) was that every single bite was absolute perfection. I do not mean this lightly. Allow me to explain. The freshly grilled marlin, the coolness of the cabbage, the heat and smokiness of chipotle mayo, the acid from the pickled onion and fresh lime, the herby sharpness of the fresh cilantro created a superbly constructed culinary masterpiece.
Although it was my first time eating here, Brad such a friendly disposition that I felt like I was being prepared food by an old friend. We all felt instantly welcome and it was clear this food was made with such care, it reminded me of a passage from my favorite book:
“ Work is love made visible. And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy. For if you bake bread with indifference, you bake a bitter bread that feeds but half man’s hunger.”
Thank you Brad, we all appreciated this work. We all agreed these were the best tacos of our lives! If only Pablo Neruda were still alive to write a sonnet to give this taco the praise it deserves.

Read moreWe were excited to try this place and even planned our day around it, walking 40 minutes from our hotel. Their website, Google, and Instagram all say they close at 8 pm, but when we arrived at 6 pm, it was already closed. An employee casually told us they were done for the day. This was unprofessional and a complete waste of time. If you’re going to change your hours, at least update them online. On top of that, the food shown on social media looked very different—less authentic and more limited. We ended up at Mimi’s Peruvian restaurant instead, which was fantastic, authentic, and actually open during posted hours. Highly...
Read moreThis food truck is in the Ward Harbour area, and I've been there for lunch several times. The food is always delicious. Their chili dishes are excellent, and the tacos they've recently started serving are also fantastic. On this particular visit, I had the Fresh Fish Tacos. They were substantial and had a light, addictive flavor. The Pesto Pasta is also delicious, and the Grilled Short Rib I had as a side was so tender and habit-forming. The sauce is truly the best. If you want to enjoy a casual lunch while soaking up the Hawaiian sun, this is the...
