Smile Massage & Spa — Attraction in Honolulu

On the spur of the moment I decided to book a massage session at Smile Massage. I selected this place because it was close to my home. When I called, the person I spoke with was very professional and pleasant.

It was around noon when I called and I had asked for a same day appointment and she offered me 1pm or 6pm. Then she discussed something with someone in the background, then came back and asked if I can come now. So after a quick shower I headed over.

The business is in what appears to be formerly an apartment. It looks like the building owner converted the whole second floor from living apartments to businesses. The business appeared to be very neat and clean, with a very relaxed atmosphere. There were no other customers in the reception area, and two employees.

The masseuse that tended to me was Chris (I think that is her name). She was very friendly and funny. I was not in the bit apprehensive as I have had massages before, but I think her candor would put anyone at ease. After showing me their "menu" she asked if I would like any "add-on's". I got a 1 hour massage and a face cleansing add-on. The prices are pretty reasonable. It was a total of $100 (70+30) plus tax.

I had strained my shoulder and neck area earlier in the week during an exercise session and had been aching for a few days, I couldn't turn my head toward one side without some pain. My shoulders and upper back were feeling the consequences of that and were also tensed up. So I had hoped a nice massage would relieve my discomfort, and it did.

The massage room itself was one of the bedrooms of the apartment, it was clean, comfortable and a/c cooled, but not chilly. When she started the session, I could tell that it was going to be just what I needed. She used her hands, arms, elbows and knuckles and got all the kinks out of my back and shoulders. There was even one point where she used hot stones in the massage on my back. I admit at some points the massage did hurt, but it was all worth it. The massage covered my neck, shoulders, back, legs, feet, arms and hands. She also cracked my upper back, and that was great!

The face cleansing was also amazing. The products she used on my face were very light and refreshing. I think they were unscented, because I don't remember any strong perfumes in them. You can also purchase the products that she uses for your own use. I felt clean, refreshed and moisturized.

Throughout the session Chris made occasional conversation that was not the usual massage conversation. It was very entertaining, and out of the normal "relaxing silence" that you have at most massage businesses. Of course they had music playing in the background that was very calming and mellow.

When I left there, all the tension in my back, neck and shoulders was gone. My neck was still achy, but I could turn my head in both directions without any pain or restriction. I felt great, refreshed and relaxed.

Had 2 massages in one week first one was great. The masseuse was very professional, and everything was awesome and I was going to give five stars rating and until I had my second massage. I called to schedule the second massage session with the same resource and I double checked with them. I want to see masseuse. I gave them the name they said yes she’s available on the request of time. when I arrived. I was surprised to see another masseuse and she said oh no the people who made the booking they don’t know who’s available so I did not wanna do the massage because I did not want to try another masseuse and I was really looking for the first one. The masseuse called the other masseuse that I requested and she said I’m sorry I’m not available and this one is also great with a lot of experience so they convinced me to go ahead and do the massage with her. from there everything was bad. The massage was very rough. She even hurt my neck with her nails. Also hurt my shoulder when tried to pop my neck before relaxing the muscle. Lily received me, asked about my condition in detail, and recommended a 90-minute combo with Tigerbone and Chinese cupping. She was very professional, accurately found my pain points and opened the nuts. During the deep massage, the tigerbone gradually penetrated with the pressure, and I felt warm and the pain gradually disappeared. Then I was given a free hot stone massage, which felt very comfortable. Then it was the cupping stage, which was different from what I had done before. The cup slid up and down my back, activating the cells and boiling my whole body, and then stopped at the main acupuncture points for 15 minutes. The 90-minute massage was too short.
