Gulfgate — Attraction in Houston

I gave this HEB five stars because it deserved it! For one, the location is awesome!!! It's located right by the 610 freeway and 45 freeway. For two, the parking lot is very spacious. For three, it has a variety of check out lines so it's not like you're waiting forever. For four, all the shelves were stocked and it was about supply and demand chain grocery store. You were only allowed two items per transaction. For example if you wanted toilet paper, there was a limit on that. As for food you can get what you like. The day that I went it was very busy but at the same time everyone practiced safe distancing. Everyone was respectful enough to ware a mask. HEB even had hand sanitizer & paper sanitizer to wipe your baskets hand rail as you entered the store. It was enough food and household item and cleaning supplies to go around. You would think due to the Caronavirus that everything would be in an uproar but it was not like that. You went in the store and shopped & you practiced HEB protocols, rules and regulations was enforced along with designated signs and where you can stand on the floor while in line. The atmosphere was friendly, fun and safe all at the same time! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The cashier's were helpful and friendly and the baggers were too! Gotta love it. My mother was robbed at the HEB parking lot at Gulfgate. When I arrived to provide support I noticed at least three light posts were out. There was no security patrolling the parking lot. It was the darkest I've ever seen that parking lot in 20+ years of shopping there. It made me livid that this shopping center which houses million dollar companies can't get their lights running and provide a secure shopping environment. This! Is! WRONG! When we went to leave a young girl was walking to her car as my mother did by herself. We told her to be very careful walking to her car and what had just happened. Turned out she was an HEB partner and told us many other partners have complained about the lack of security for their very own employees. From now on we will no longer shop at Gulfgate/HEB. It makes no sense that while they've been remodeling the center for a few weeks to a month that they can't keep up with the lights. I have pictures of the parking lot and it clearly shows how dark it is. This is a breeding ground for robbers to take advantage of Christmas shoppers. One would expect security would've beefed up for the holiday season. Where is the appreciation for the loyal customers? My mother did NOT deserve to be assaulted. Now she must live with the fear and anxiety of doing something so simple as shopping. She is completely...

I went into the store at 524 here it is 623 and waited patiently. Upon arriving into the store no one was there to greet but I digress. So a lady shortly came after to do the greeting of customers. I waited while rude Carlos was rude to the customer before me. The lady that was before me went to the lady at the front to check us out and she said she couldn't leave the front. But she wasn't and no one was there when I walked in. 5 store employees walked passed me. Damn near 1 hour later I'm checked out not before the lady that was in front of me and some random white guy was checked out by the lady that said she couldn't leave the front. And then Carlos rude self with much attitude checked me out and I said I don't understand if you knew that it going to be so long why not ask for help... back and forth went with each other and I feel he was rude no common courtesy to apologize to me nor the other people for being so argumentive.
