Review Title: Unprofessional Conduct and Dismissive Response from Helfman Collision Director
Review:
Iām extremely disappointed with the handling of a serious safety concern by Helfman Motors and, in particular, Greg Luther, Body Shop Operations Director.
Following a May 2025 repair at Helfman (including a new driverās side tire), I noticed my truck was pulling to the left. When I picked it up on May 30, a collision consultant told me this āslight pullingā was expected due to the new tire. However, this issue persisted and concerned me ā especially since I had suffered a driverās side tire blowout on May 4, which could have resulted in serious injury or worse.
I followed up and spoke with Greg Luther, who looked up my VIN and confirmed that my truck had received the 2019 Ram recall repair for the drag link, which involved welding the sleeve ā a so-called āquick fix.ā I asked if this type of weld could contribute to uneven tread wear over time. Greg flatly denied any possibility, despite numerous reports from other Ram 2500 owners (which I found via the NHTSA) citing uneven tire wear after this same recall.
What made this experience worse was Greg Lutherās condescending tone during our conversation. When I used the term āpullingā to describe the truckās behavior ā a term Helfmanās own consultant had used ā he asked, āWhat does that mean?ā This felt patronizing and dismissive, especially coming from someone in his position. When I expressed my concern ā including the trauma from my recent blowout ā he told me to ācalm down.ā At that point, I ended the call, feeling deeply disrespected and invalidated.
I reached out with legitimate safety concerns and expected a professional, informed discussion. Instead, I received sarcasm and deflection. Rather than acknowledging that there might be wider issues with the drag link recall, Greg seemed more interested in defending Ramās process than addressing customer safety or concerns.
I would caution other Ram owners ā especially those whoāve had the drag link recall done ā to pay close attention to tire wear and alignment, and to demand more accountability from dealers and service staff. Based on this interaction, I would not return to Helfman for future service, nor can I recommend Greg Luther as a customer-facing representative of their body shop operations. Refer to attached photo of nut weld to drag link sleeve. This is Rams...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to Helfman with my husband to purchase a used vehicle (an upgrade from a Jeep Cherokee to a Jeep Grand Cherokee). It was the second vehicle that he purchased at that location. We accidentally walked into the ānew carā side and were still greeted very warmly and the front desk lady called over someone from the āused carā side to gather us and start our visit. We were paired with Dakota, a newer but wonderful salesman. We explained we only had a few minutes since we were in the area before our next commitment. He quickly got us in a car that met our needs and wants and allowed us to even test drive while respecting our time constraint. We threw a lot on him all at once! And he handled it all great! My husband and he exchanged information and we were on our way. That night my husband received information to input for his trade in car, and in the morning, Dakota kindly checked in to see if we planned to stop by. We did! We were in an out in 3 hours for the whole process. Which included meeting with Richard in finance for a loan to cover the rest of the car payment. The time probably could have been less but there was some back and forth due to questions from us both. Which they handled with ease. Dakota and Richard both listened to our wants and needs and guided us accordingly and comfortably. We did try one other spot before ā and they were knowledgeable ā but they didnāt have the inventory that Helfman had. We felt good about our decision and will one day, Iām sure, be returning when (if!) we have outgrown this Jeep! We love it so far and keep finding reasons to get out and about. Go ahead and stop by and ask...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBest car buying experience Iāve ever had. I got there right after it opened on a Saturday. I found Kirby who then tracked down the car I wanted, and did so in a hurry. I even spotted him running thru the parking lot to get it at one point. Tim then joined us and went over some of the features, while Kirby rode shotgun on the test drive. When we got back we went inside to talk numbers. This is usually the frustrating part where you know youāre being tricked somehow but you donāt figure it out until you start going over the numbers again with the finance guy. My experience here was so much different. Tim was very transparent. He explained and showed me the price breakdown which made me very comfortable, and therefore confident when it came to signing the dotted line! After Tim and I agreed on the price they introduced me to Richard, who was extremely patient with me while I made him plug in dozens of different number combinations until he got me where I wanted to be. I never felt like he was annoyed and I never felt rushed. Kirby got it cleaned out and ready for me then demonstrated a few other features before sending me off on my way. I drove two hours to get there preparing myself for the usual nonsense that every other dealership tries to sell along with the car. I drove two hours back as someone who not only just bought a new car, but also traded in that old nonsense from other dealerships for the new team at Helfman. Without a doubt I will go back. Thank you Kirby, Tim, and Richard for everything! I really appreciated each of you. See yall in...
