We went for HRW week. We called ahead to make a reservation however the tables were free for all seating so our reservation really didn't matter as we still had to wait for a table to clear. It is a counter service ordering style which means you pay for the food and tip up front. The restaurant was very, very warm, almost like we were sitting outside with no ac. The bakery case looked lovely. We ordered at 7:37 pm. At 8:35 pm we had received no food, no drinks (besides the water we went and got ourselves), and no one running plates had checked on us at all. I wasn't expecting amazing service because it was a counter order, but after an hour without an appetizer or our beer and wine I was a bit frustrated. One member of our party asked about our orders and the waitress behind the register checked on it and said "they have been backed up and are still working on it." It was clear they had not been working on our order the entire time as another man came out and told us they were out of the appetizer we ordered and we needed to pick something else. It seemed our order had been missed or forgotten. The food was good and tasted fine (the pork chop was a bit dry), but after an hour of sitting with nothing I honestly wanted my money back to go across the street to Whataburger, but we stuck it out because we had already paid $40 a person for our food. Service seemed chaotic and it was not an enjoyable experience for us. The waitresses apologized multiple times and said "we aren't used to a dinner rush" which I understand, but would encourage management to consider their processes and wait times/service before advertising dinner with HRW. Unfortunately I'm not sure we will be back after...

I’ve seen this place posted in the Spring Branch neighborhood facebook so I decided to try it for brunch with my son. Ordered a waffle with bacon & eggs and the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit plate. The waffle and eggs is basic but worth $15? Idk The honey biscuit on the top was good but it was the ONLY edible item on my plate. The two fried chicken strips were overly fried (extra extra dark and tough fried). I took a bite of the corner piece and it had a rancid chicken taste. Thinking it was the batter, I peeled off the coating on that same corner of the chicken but the flavor was the same expired taste. It was also tough texture, so not like I can give the second remaining chicken strip a chance as it was all way tough. Not wanting to be a “Karen” by the young crew at the front, I politely and discreetly told the cashier about the food. She was nice and passed the message to the other two staff. They offered to re-order the food but I didn’t want to chance it. Kudos to them for trying to be helpful. I opted for a muffin to-go but when I got home, that muffin was dry and stale (photos attached) Hopefully it’s a one-off period for the bakery and cooks. I was highly disappointed since I wasted my brunch...

Gourmet. 5-star. Serving Houston in the 2024 Tornado! Thank you. Read this review! The Dos Chocolate cookie is the subject of this review. Best cookie I have ever had. Wait, Is it a cookie or the best low-profile circular brownie I have ever had? It was flaky y'all. Like a perfect brownie. Once you bite into it, it starts to flake and fall into your hand. Then boom, the gooey brownie center filling gets your attention. Then you realize this is not a chocolate chip cookie. Oh no. It's a gourmet low-profile circular brownie. 5 Stars. Ok I also had the turkey provolone on sourdough. Also gourmet. My sister and I kept ewwing and aaahhing after every bite. When was the last time I had a sandwich that good? Probably never. Dang it. Thank you for being so awesome at what you do. Oh and I should mention the professionalism of the wait staff. The guy taking my order took the time to understand my tremendous concern for my sister's egg allergy and meticulously repeated my order back to me. Thank goodness for people who care about the details. Thank you Salt & Sugar. I hope you have a long and prosperous tenure serving Spring Branch. Ok folks, that's it for today. The pictures of the food looked way better than things tasted. I went with a friend who used to go all the time. She said the food quality and service had gone way down since the last time she'd visited. This was my first time, and it was underwhelming. The service was nice enough; though, the servers seemed like they were just killing time and going through the motions rather than caring whether customers were attended to. Menu is great with lots of variety for all diets. The gruyere grits were tasty but a little watery. The coffee tasted burnt. But the most disappointing was the desserts. We tried the peanut butter cookie, the tiramisu, and the Nutella croissant. They were all nearly tasteless. The cookie fell apart soon as we started eating it and tasted like a brown cookie with peanuts more than peanut butter. Nutella croissant seemed stale and not flaky with just a big glob of Nutella squeezed into one part of the middle. The tiramisu had little flavor, and the texture was off. Their desserts look beautiful, but I won't be trying more. Hopefully, this was just a bad day, but it was nearly empty during brunch time on a Saturday.
