6/14/18- I'm not the one to write bad reviews, but today was the worst experience ever. Me and my wife have been faithful to this restaurant since it first opened. I remember when they were first opening, employees would try promoting restaurant by getting customers from dollar store to come by, we even know the family members of the restaurant. Today was they worst service ever and possibly be the last time me eat there. We were advised not to sit in a certain area due to waitstaff would take long to attend to us. So we sat at a table. Well some customers sat at the booth we were going to sit as well as other customers got there way after us. Wifes drink took a long time to come to table. I then ordered our appetizer with Jose, and we waited. Customers got their drink order and food before us while we still waited for our food. When I complained about where our food was, our server Jose, who has been there since it opened, said he was going to check on it. After we got our food, Jose blamed the food being late on the restaurant owner who was in the kitchen cooking the food. It was very unprofessional that our server blamed the food being late on his boss and also stated because they were busy. They were busy but how is it that other people who I saw what kind of food they had, got their food before us. I could barely eat, we had to get our food to go, and I paid and we stormed out of there because I was so upset as my wife was too. I confronted the host, about the problem and all he could say is sorry. I'm sorry Chavez restaurant you lost some...
Read moreGood: Fajita Chicken, Ribs (excellent), Salsa, Green Sauce, queso (okay). Bad: Fajita Beef (not good at all), skimpy on condiments, Service wasn't awful but there were some slip ups.
I've been here twice but haven't gotten a margarita yet (nor would my opinion of them weigh very much as I'm no connoisseur). First time I ate there was for lunch. I ordered the El Trio my colleague had Chicken Acapulco . The fajita chicken was really good but the ribs were delicious! It came with ample grilled onions but only a couple of sprigs of cilantro and I had to order cheese with it separately. The chicken for the Acapulco dish looked even better than mine. The third meat of the trio fell very flat though. If you want fajita beef (and ONLY fajita beef) go to El Gallo. During this experience, I also could barely communicate with the nearly non-english speaking staff. Ordering was okay but it took three people to change a tv station that had a game I wanted to see. I told them the correct channel and it ended up on a tv across the restaurant and behind my chair rather than the one right in front of me that no one was watching.
The second time I ordered a take out chicken taco salad with queso. The chicken was still good but not like the first time. It was also in a big and nicely crispy shell/bowl but they didn't give enough queso or salsa to dress it properly so the veggies were dry. They did give me chips and beans and rice which was nice...
Read moreDisregard any complaints about this cafe. We have been looking for a place where the food is fresh, good service, clean environment and good Rita's. This was our first visit. We have driven by many times and decided to go for an early dinner. The place is huge. Plenty of parking. Inside the place is spotless top to bottom. Tables and booths have lots of space between, so no one is on top of each other. The booths have wood partitions on top of the bank head for privacy, great idea. Full bar separate from dining and tvs. Service was friendly and flawless. We each had a rita one frozen and one on the rocks, fresh and delicious. Chips were fresh and they serve green and red sauce, not to thin, not to thick. We ordered mixed fajitas for 2. Beans, rice and the usual sides all fresh and delicious. Scratch made tortillas. I loved the way the chicken was on one side all lined up and beef on the other side done the same and both on top of onions cooked to perfection. Beans and rice were also fresh. Loved the veggies in the rice and the beans were not watery or mushy. They serve enough for a second meal. We ordered tres leches cake, fresh made some of the best I have had and it was served with warm churros. We also had fresh coffee. They have other traditional deserts too. Finally, they have happy hour and private areas for parties. All in all a great find and worth it. We will be loyal customers. You will not be...
