Update: I wrote this review the day after my backpack was stolen out of my truck. I didn’t want to jump to conclusions but I later get a call from another member saying he has my backpack. He found it in his car which was broken into. For some reason they picked my lock, stole my backpack, then shattered the other person’s window, probably took some things and placed my backpack in his car. Idk what’s going on at this location but until they ramp up security and start caring about their member’s valuables, I’d steer clear. ———————— Protect your valuables. Someone or multiple people are targeting this place. Been going to LA fitness for over 5 years, to multiple locations. This is the only location I’ve had something stolen. If it happens to you, don’t expect much help from the staff either. The impression I got, is it’s not their fault. But I secured my valuables with a locker and lock, they have security cameras outside and inside, and it apparently happened to another member a few weeks before me. I filed a police report and was told they would review the security cameras. Haven’t heard anything back. The regional manager is the only person able to review the footage apparently, and he was there the day that it happened. He didn’t come to the front desk to speak with me or the cop so I guess he decided it wasn’t worth his time. It should be worth his time because he either has a member stealing other members’ valuables or non-members are getting in somehow. They also don’t allow members in an hour before closing which is dumb. A member pays for access to the gym during business hours. This location used to be my second favorite LA in Houston. The front desk is nicer than usual, but the handling of my theft was just awful. I probably won’t go back at this point.

I had an issue with my account and the front desk were less than unhelpful, more like worthless. They lied and said they tried fixing my account even though I never scanned in or provided a phone number. I get it all you do is sit on your a$$ and have people scan themselves in. But when it comes to doing the bare minimum in CUSTOMER SERVICE y’all cry about how hard it is and tell the people who make YOUR PAYCHECK to either cancel their membership or pay a fee??? No thanks, I actually worked at LA Fitness years ago at the front desk and I would never half ass my job like these idiots. It’s a small location, machines take forever to get maintenanced and they milk you for money making you pay first and last month upfront so when you cancel they already made their extra month of revenue off of you. they let a homeless woman park a grocery cart in front of the gym every day at the entrance stacked full of rags and bungee cords…. That looks ghetto. The operation manager might as well be a McDonald’s ice cream machine because they never work.

The appeal of LA fitness is it serves as a mid level gym for both fitness enthusiasts and newcomers. This location had the standard LA fitness equipment types and then some; free weights (dumbbells up to 100lbs, lots of incline, decline and flat benches), squat racks, a variety of strength training and cardio machines including a self propelled treadmill which isn’t typical for most locations, and a turf area to do some sled push/pulls. Pros of this location: lots of equipment, generally clean and no gym bros grunting and slamming weights (I went early on Sunday morning). Cons of this location: stretch area is limited.

So they play Fox News in the locker rooms and the last thing anyone wants to hear about, in a gun, is POLITICS. Trump this and Trump that. I will be canceling my membership due to this.

The drains in the pool area are clogged, particularly the drain in the shower that is located next to the pool. The floor is disgustingly dirty in the pool area. It is obvious that it hasn’t been cleaned in days. Either no one is cleaning or they are so incompetent that it looks like no one is cleaning. However, I have watched them clean the windows at the club entrance for over 30 minutes. Perhaps instead of cleaning windows that no one cares about clean the floor in the pool area. MOP. That is what you ask for when you go to Home Depot. A 15 year old can mop, why can’t this club? The common area water fountain does NOT have cold water, ever. Imagine you are exercising and working up a sweat and you just want to drink some cold water so you go to the water fountain (that should have cold water) and discover that the water is room temperature. It has been like this for 3 months! Perhaps longer. There are no excuses for this. I think they actually want it to be at room temperature so that customers will buy the refrigerated bottled water from the vending machine that is adjacent to the water fountain. Customers pay dues, therefore the water fountain should work flawlessly. It is disgusting that LA Fitness does not want to offer any cold water to their members. It is offensive. A wrongful death lawsuit is a likely result from not fixing and not maintaining a cold water fountain. Imagine someone having a heart attack due to overheating. I will never recommend LA Fitness to a friend or coworker. People deserve better. If something is broken you call someone to fix it, you don’t ignore the problem. But LA Fitness thinks that it is perfectly fine to ignore the problem. I guess they covet the income from the vending machine more than they care about their members’ health. They should remove the word “Fitness” from their signs because there is nothing fit about being subjected to hot water during an intense workout. Perhaps the health department will have an opinion on this. Beware that they prevent any members from entering the club in the last hour. So if they close at 8 you better get there before 7. So even though you are paying dues and you have an expectation that you can use the club all hours that they are open, you will grossly disappointed if you show up at 7:10 if they are closing that day at 8. In essence you are paying for hours that you do not have access to. Seems like a rip off. Thank goodness that LA Fitness has competition, it is time to find a better gym, and from what I’ve experienced, all the other gyms will treat their...

Besides the Generic Gym Equipment that people's "money for deposit pay for" they're lack of actual machines, on top of average trainers doesn't do this place any favors.

1st- Front desk is often left alone during peak hours, then when they decide to help, it's one of the GM or Managers with a smirk on their face 2nd-20$ daily pass is far too much, 10$ is more reasonable, it's not like they have groundbreaking machines anyways. 3rd- Weights read KG, and trust me when I tell you I should not be able to pick up 75 "KG" dumbells, so use of rubber fake weights again do nobody any favors. Besides the front desk and cleaning people (who, let's be honest, make that place run), that's pretty much all the fun there. 4th- They (LA fitness is still to this day over charging for Deposits, running credit for it, then asking additional money if credit is bad or average), it's the scam like behaviors which is why the LA fitness closed off of beltway 8 and West Rd location. That place was twice as big and therefore fell off far before this location will. 5th - they have about 1/3rd of the entire gym dedicated to treadmills, who on earth needs that many treadmills. Minimal stair climber, rowing machines (for people who actually want versatility in the cardio options), this place isn't for you. 6th - to many of the people starting to work out for the year (and Highschoolers) you are better off driving to an actual old school gym. 7th- and Final, not worth the price, and definitely not worth the daily price, the feature of the pool is abysmal, use of hot tub not needed, and to top it off steam room and changing areas are of basic boring value.

Conclusion: There are better bangs for your buck. Please drive elsewhere. LA fitness is a thing of the past. Never...
