I feel like i was being profiled here today. I walkin with the sole purpose of buying a gift card fo $500 i get to the register and the cashier tells me you dont want to put all that on your card she suggested i added a the minimum then call and increase the card or get a prepaid card so i decided to go to my bank (chase next door) to see if they had secured debit cards which they didn't. I go back to H.E.B. to get a few groceries and the prepaid card and they ask for my I.D. to pay for the card which i do and this is the same lady who said to get the prepaid earlier she then comes back and says we need a Texas I.D. so we cant process this soi gave her a Texas ID she then says she cant do it because her manager says no so i ask to speak to the manager theybsend some guy named A.J. he was completely useless he was pulling excuses out the air as to why i was refused service so after about 15 min of me realizing that hes just a he's not the one to talk to i ask for the unit director kim i fill her in and she made somewhat of an effort to push things through then the cashier comes up with the excuse that she tried but the system rejected me because my info was put in twice. She never put me in the system twice all she did was call her boss and her boss said not to touch my acvount anymore bunch of liars here

First, I want to start by saying this is the HEB closest to where I live. It’s just like any other HEB (the best ever) and I love how it’s never too busy. Today, at around 1PM, I got up to grab some things I needed. I was on a mission! I had my list, and I was sticking to it (and I did). I walked up to check out lane 7 to begin my checkout process, like usual. I loaded my belongings, and waited for the gentleman in front of me to complete his transaction. Usually the checkout people are kind and attentive, but Kendra went above and beyond. To others it may not seem like a big deal, but she seamlessly struck up a conversation with me that felt sincere and kind. She had genuine interest in an item I purchased, and commented that it was one of her favorites as well. We then chatted a bit about similar topics while she rung up my other items, and I truly felt so happy. I understand it’s not a big deal to talk about things like that, but her sincerity really made my day. Thank you Kendra :-)

I’ve been shopping at this H‑E‑B for 6 months. It’s somewhat better now that all the repairs are done, no more pot holes in the aisles and no more searching for items. I only shop in the mornings, and the grocery and meat aisles are not stocked in time. By mornings I mean before 1030am. Many days the onions are so rotten you can smell them from the Deli. I once picked through soggy cilantro and had to give up. You should know prices are very high for this area. H‑E‑B prices change according to location and but you will find midtown prices here. There are many grocery stores nearby that I have tried and will now switch to. The employees here are polite.

As a former employee of HEB, I had entered my position at Shelf Edge with high hopes for a positive work experience. However, my time spent there under the management of Wanda proved to be anything but that. Despite my initial eagerness, it became clear to me after only a couple of weeks that I had to leave the job. Now, after 2.5 years, I write this review with a clear mind, yet still grappling with what had transpired in that work environment.

Upon starting at Shelf Edge, I discovered that nobody else was working there, and they were desperately in need of someone to fill the position. I was optimistic, hoping for a great experience, but things quickly soured when the only other employee working there quickly quit after I was hired. Shelf edge was clearly a failing department because of the management.

As time passed, Wanda's true colors as the manager of Shelf Edge became apparent. Her rude behavior towards everyone, including customers, was egregious and bullying, and I had never felt so anxious at a job in my entire life. Her unprofessional conduct was common knowledge, with everyone in the store having stories about her mistreatment of others.

I tried to be patient, but Wanda's treatment towards me was unbearable. Even worse, the store leader, Jay, was aware of her behavior but never seemed to address it. Instead, he shared personal information about Wanda's life as if it excused her behavior and made me feel uncomfortable. Additionally, he treated me with disrespect, refusing to listen to my concerns or make me feel heard. When I sought help from other higher-ups, Jay punished me for it and never provided any comfort or support. It seemed as though he was protective of Wanda, which only added to my frustration and feelings of hopelessness.

Eventually, I felt that I had no choice but to quit. It was the most miserable work experience of my life, and it was not the HEB experience I had hoped for. I was unable to give a proper two weeks' notice as I simply could not handle it anymore. Both Wanda and Jay's unprofessional attitudes still vex me to this day, and it is unfortunate that many people felt forced to quit due to Wanda's behavior. There were even rumors that Wanda and Jay were having an intimate relationship, and I believe that this situation needs to be addressed.

I made a concerted effort to transfer to a new department, and spoke with Jay to keep him informed of my intentions. It was rather surprising that he gave me the green light to move on, considering how difficult he had made things for me in the past. The Curbside manager was new to the store and was unaware of who Wanda was and how rude she was, so she couldn't even sympathize with my situation as other managers had.

As I was preparing for the interview, the Curbside manager asked for my name and proceeded to tell me that Jay had already deemed me ineligible for consideration. It dawned on me that Jay had misled me, and was actively trying to prevent my transfer in a bid to force me out of my position within the store.

Additionally, there was a particularly important surgical appointment that I had to attend, and Jay was well aware of it. Despite this, he chose to call me to his office and waste my time discussing trivialities, keeping me in his office until the exact time of my appointment. It remains unclear whether he did this deliberately, but it was clear that he had little regard for my obligations.

There are many more instances of mistreatment and disrespect that I endured, but I shall not go into all of them here. Suffice it to say that these examples illustrate the kind of unprofessional and degrading behavior that I was subjected to under Jay's and...

As a long time grocery shopper @ HEB over 13 years. I’ve never in my life experience what I encountered on 04/09/2024 around 1:30pm. I was on my lunch break, decided to make a few groceries at 10251 Kempwood Dr location. After making a few groceries, I went to the customer express self checkout. Of course the staff that’s monitoring the area gets a lot of cardio because any false move with bagging etc..,assistance is needed. Well on this particular day as I may describe her because I didn’t get her name. Young lady stood to be 5’5” tall about 130 lbs medium complected black Alfro American wore eyeglasses about 130lbs. As I was checking out I needed her assistance a couple times. Well the 3rd time she came she seemed to be bothered and irritated. She began to scan my items throwing them in the bag. After the 3rd attempt, I stopped her saying never mind I will do it. She then smacked her lips rolled her eyes and walked away. I did mention to her that she was being very rude and disrespectful. I then asked to speak with a manager. One of the assistant manager assisted me to the store manager, I explained to the store manager what happened, the store manager apologized and said she will deal with the young lady accordingly. I must say I deal with all kinds of people for over 30 years. I know it can be challenging, but to keep proper work etiquette is key. This HEB staff worker needs to revisit customer service etiquette, and to know that character...

OMG! Where do I start? So, first off. The entire produce section was absolutely terrible. They had 1 in 20 ratio of good produce that didn't appear to be wilted or borderline slimy. I proceeded to look for other vegan and vegetarian items throughout the store and let me tell you this place is a complete food desert. The Impossible Burger options they had were appearing to be completely freezer burnt. I search for a few real meat items where the packaging had blood and liquid accumulation as if it has been sitting outside of the refrigerator for several hours. I quickly gathered myself and a few items in my basket and proceeded to check out. After ringing up I asked a young gentleman where the restroom was he mentioned that the restroom was under construction and I would have to go use the porta potty. I replied, "please I would like to wash my hands I have come in contact with raw meat where do you wash your hands?" This guy actually had the nerve to tell me in the porta potty. Okay Google. I told this guy that there's no running water in a porta potty do you mean to tell me the lady in the sushi department and the butcher in the meat department uses the restroom at the Porta-Potty in washes their hands in there? Crickets.... Never mind young man who can help me get a refund with my entire transaction? Crickets.... I'm done!!!! I thought HEB had standards... Standards...
