SCAM/FRAUD/THEFT! ASK FOR RECEIPT! (Long review warning)
My colleagues and I (3 of us total) went here for lunch and had the worst experience. When we walked in, we were shown a table to sit at. The table was 2 smaller tables pushed together to make a bigger one (an 8 seater). One half was dirty, as if some people had eaten there and it was waiting to be cleaned. Therefore, we sat at the other end (IMPORTANT: We were guided to that table, we didn't choose to sit there). When we sat down, nothing was said to us, e.g, Hi, any important policy (important detail), etc. The waitress had a horrible attitude and even attempted to snatch the menu from my coworker's hand when she was trying to place an order. My coworker asked if she could get an ingredient taken off one of the apps and the waitress said no so rudely. Fast forward, we finish our food and get ready to pay. They printed out our order all together (I guess to make it easier to know what was served). We each told the guy at the front what we had and that it was separate checks. The guy then tells us the total, we pay, and he doesn't give us a receipt. We walk out, but before we enter the car we realize that we were overcharged. We walk back in to ask for our receipt so we can look at the total. He prints out one itemized group receipt. We indicate that we want our individual receipt. He hesitates and acts as if he can't find it (RED FLAG). He then gives us the same receipt that had the tip option and not the itemized one. We take it and head back to work, still thinking that this number is incorrect. We can't exactly say why at the time, since it doesn't show what the taxes came out to be. Turns out they took the entire group tab, totaled it, added a tip we weren't aware of, and took that number and added it to our individual total. They essentially stole money from an unauthorized tip and then collected a second tip from us. We were thinking the number on our receipt was our total with tax, and added our tip, but it was the total+tax+ the tip from the group total.
Example: Group total is $60, but each person's food cost $20. Let's say taxes are $3. They took a 10% tip of the group total ($6) and added it to each person's bill. Instead of getting a bill of $23 you get shown a bill of $29, thinking that has no tip. Hopefully, this helps explain it.
I called the store to ask why they did that, and they initially LIED, saying we chose to sit at a big table and the big table gets automatically charged a tip. He said that we were informed of that when we sat down, which is another LIE. I recorded the phone call where he eventually admits that they made a mistake however, he didn't want to completely void the extra charge. Essentially, he wanted to keep the money they stole from each of us. When I brought up it being illegal and getting the bank involved, he started to get nervous and bring up zelling the money back, which I didn't feel comfortable giving my or my coworkers' number to strangers. He even said that their system automatically charges the tip and that they can't do anything about it. Which makes me believe that this may have happened to other unsuspecting people and they just don't know it since they don't give you your receipt. The man went as far as to tell me that we were mean because we didn't want to allow them to keep the stolen money, and how dare I ask for it back.
All this to say that we came in a small group, were told where to sit, had horrible service, was stolen from, lied to, and gaslighted. When I entered the place, there were 4 employees (2 behind the counter and 2 in front). I stood at the entrance and since no one show me to a table I just took a seat at an empty table and waited and waited and waited. After a while, one waiter walked pass me and spoke to some customers at another table and he talked and talked and talked and only when he finished and walked back to the counter did he grab a menu and hand it to me. Eventually, he came back for my order which came out in less time than from the time I walked in to the time I made my order. I had the Bo Kho (beef stew noodle) and although it was fair, there was only a small amount of meat - less than a hamburger patty's worth. But the bad service did not end there: I did not want to wait for the waiter to bring my check so I went to the counter/cashier to pay and the old lady at the cash register glared at me and did not say one word. She just plopped down the bill which I paid and turn her back to me as if I was bothering her. All this time, I was not loud or rude or anything like that. Read moreThis place has the absolute worst customer service ever!!! The food is ok and prices. A group of coworkers and I used to eat here all the time but their service and attitude is awful. Save yourself a headache and don't eat here. We placed an online order and they didn't put our sandwiches in the bag and didn't bother to notify us. When we checked the bag and told them we were missing food the cashier said that's what we ordered and turned around and ignored us. We pulled up the receipt of our online order on our phone and proved we did make that order and they charged us. He didn't care and said they didn't have sandwiches and we said, ok so what are you going to do? and he said door dash will get you a refund and we said, we didn't order from door dash because we ordered on their website. He still didn't care. We said we need to order more food because we need lunch for the office. He didn't process anything but claims we should receive a refund in 5 days. We had had to pay again for the order. We have yet to see if we actually get a refund. I PROMISE YOU, YOU WILL REGRET EATING HERE WHEN AN ISSUE WITH YOUR FOOD COMES UP AND THEY WILL NOT APOLOGIZE AND GIVE A NASTY, UGLY ATTITUDE.
