Houston City Hall — Attraction in Houston

I’m not even sure how many reviews have been done on city governments. But here goes. We had a major roach problem in our apartment for years. We cleaned and sprayed and fogged but it did little good. When we moved into our remodeled apartment in our complex the bugs came with us. We didn’t know that roaches love cardboard boxes and paper. We had a lot of our stuff in cardboard boxes. And, in addition to feuding with our management office over their inability to help us, we had to deal with multiple city of Houston agencies. From the mayor at the top all the way down to agencies such as the Greater Houston Fair Housing Center we encountered lies, stupidity, ignorance, and repeated refusals to help us. Early on in the conflict I contacted the Houston Fair Housing Office and spoke to their Administrative Coordinator. She assured me that they could help us and told me to write a demand letter to our apartment manager requesting that they fix the bug problem.

The Administrative Coordinator said we were perfectly within our rights as tenants to do this and her agency would back us up. But after the certified letter was ignored by the manager I called this Administrative Coordinator and she changed her story and said that all she could do was call 311 and file a report! Hell, I could have saved the months I spent taking her lame advice and do that myself. Another worthless city of Houston agency is the Multi-Family Habitability & Investigations Dept.. Their name implies that they would investigate issues in apartment complexes but they didn’t raise a finger to help either. Another useless agency was the Citizen Assistant Office. The Neighborhood Liaison for our part of the city acted like she may do something but in the end she was a total wash-out. Even the Mayor of the city of Houston, who I eventually reached out to in final desperation, just had his lackeys refer me to someone else.

But I ultimately learned that the apartment industry, at least in Texas, abides by their own set of rules. And almost no one, including attorneys and city personnel, have the balls to go up against them. A long-time friend and former teacher of mine, who is a very successful attorney for the "enemy" (landlords) told me that in Texas apartment tenants almost always lose out to landlords and management companies if they go to court. But there is a silver lining to all of this. It’s because of screw-ups like these that I have decided to use my writing business for investigative reporting and consumer issues. See...

Don’t work for The City of Houston they intimidate all CDL drivers . They have Nasty attitude, Supervisor’s who physically assault people they working like slaves 14 hour days they have a high turnover rate for employment. people clocking in before they actually get to work and they ones who there get treated bad . Vote for another mayor they City of Houston is below average on wages They fire people for no reason and fight unemployment . The City of Houston work place injury report is bad People injure within the first 90 days of employment across the bored . I was physically assaulted by Supervisor’s there and they try to black ball you out of the system. make sure did you sign up for the union if you are a CDL driver don’t wait a year . They don’t let people take time off even if you have time . vote for another mayor, 2024, Houston need change. Black supervisor just don’t don’t like people who come from out of town they talk about you and your face if you report them and do not pass your year probation they fire you. Bad bad bad place to work for they like Hispanic people over any other Race there is really no white people who work there . This place is downtown it's a historical building tranquility Park the small tranquility pond in front centrally-located to everything pretty much downtown on if you need to go to City Hall this is a beautiful building to go to the one down there for the rodeo for the trail ride finalized there's so much to do downtown such beautiful buildings historical area is a lot to do#rodeo#trailride #houston livestock rodeo is there a real place to check out whether it's during the day ring the evening when the lights are there is a real nice place to check out downtown destination even if it's just to take pictures I would recommend checking this area out the bums aren't too bad next to the Houston library every year we do this it's where the parade for the rodeo in the races start took a bunch of pictures to add this year hope you guys enjoy had a great time like subscribe for more...
